Though years in SoCal taught me to hate most things NoCal, I love my Anchor Steam.

A 6'er of Flying Dog Doggie Style Classic Pale Ale. If I was a wheat bear kind of guy, however, the Flying Dog In Heat Wheat would have been hard to pass up. ;)

Curiously, I found these at Fiesta here in Austin in the beer and wine aisle, but not in the cooler. Just the usual dreck was to be found in there.

1. Keg of Heineken
2. 6 pk of Lagunitas Pils (I would get this by the keg if it didn't cost so much more than Heineken)

3 bottles of Pyramid Haywire Hefeweizen

Bintang -- because I'm in Bali! A remarkably good pilsener brewed locally (and to the German purity laws standard). Far better than other local beers such as Bali Hai, though they try to be similar. Quite astonishing to find quality beer in a place with no heritage (well, I suppose the Dutch colonization had something to do with beer production).

Great call! I think the Kirkland beers are one of the most unappreciated brews out there. They are brewed by the Saranac folks, who I think do a pretty good job. Certainly on par with the Brooklyn products.

Hey, thanks for posting that--I was wondering who does their beer. It is indeed good stuff. Actually, I also wonder who they use for their Kirkland brand wines. I don't wonder about any other other Kirkland product though--ha!
