Four bottles each of

Corsendonk Belgian Pale Ale
Dogfish Head Burton Baton IPA

Two bottles of

Dogfish Head Punkin Ale

Sixteen cans of

Budweiser Select 55 - hey, what can I say - I'm in Weight Watchers and it's only 1 point a beer.

I just had some Sierra Nevada Stout. Not bad -- more hoppy and higher alcohol than the more familiar Guinness, and not as foamy. Still a bit brassy for my taste, though less so than most Sierra Nevada brews -- I used to like them more, but lately I've been leaning more and more towards the malty side of the hops/malt dichotomy.

Right now, 3 stubby bottles of Session, 9 bottles of Yuengling, 4 Old Leghumper, and a Bass. :p

Anyone else a fan of Trader Joe's anniversary ale? It's a specially brewed dark ale from Unibroue, made specifically for TJ that comes out around the holiday season. I'm still holding a few bottles from 2007, 2008, and 2009 (the last 2007 one will have to be downed pretty soon). Last year's batch was a bit disappointing, but I'm hoping age will help smooth out the flavor.

Eagerly anticipating the 2010 edition. On that note, does anyone know when it'll actually be in stores?

Finally had a Genese Cream Ale last night...at $1.19 it was the cheapest bottle at Total Wine. Actually liked it, and found it better than Little Kings cream ale.

Cleaned out the beer fridge last night and brought leftover summer beers to the kids - 3 bottles of Leinenkugel Shandy and 5 of Carolina Strawberry Ale (yuk).

Not in the fridge, but drank draught Chimay white last night. Very nice.

Add a 6 pack of the new Shiner 101, labeled asa Czech-style Pilsener, not a "craft" beer, but if Shiner's other seasonals and specials are indicators, a little variety from a small brewery that seems to care.

I knocked back a six pack of that a few weeks ago, it's pretty good.

Had a Kona Brewing Company Longboard Ale last night. Didn't like it as much as Kona Coffee.

Not in the fridge, but in the larder - Admiral's Ale from St Austell Brewery - stunning and well worth the lookout!

Admiral's Ale

This premium bottle-conditioned ale has been uniquely brewed using our own Cornish Gold malt. Locally grown barley is traditionally malted using a special kilning process which develops a deeper intensity of colour and flavour than ordinary barley malt. Blended with both Styrian Golding and Cascade hops, the result is a deep bronze ale with a delicious rich biscuit flavour and a wonderful spicy aroma. Winner of bronze medal in the Brewing Industry International Awards. Brewed in Cornwall to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Nelson's victory at trafalgar in1805.

Now Officially the World's Best Bottled Beer!

St Austell Brewery's popular premium bottle conditioned Admiral's Ale was voted "Supreme Champion" in the 2008 International Beer Challenge. It beat entries from all around the world and was praised for its unique full flavour being brewed with specially grown Cornish Gold malt and its quirky attractive label.

Just picked up another six (bottles) of Wernesgruener from Aldi's of all places!

Nice German Pilsner that I've really grown to like. Decent rating on Beer Advocate.

Give it a go.

Curiously, I found these at Fiesta here in Austin in the beer and wine aisle, but not in the cooler. Just the usual dreck was to be found in there.

I actually drank the Flying Dog Dogtoberfest in a bar in Utrecht, the Netherlands last month. Pretty good! Very rare to see a good American beer over here. Normally it's only Budweiser.

Yes, I found that to be very good as well. I tried the Flying Dog Tire Bite Golden Ale last weekend and it was tasty, but a bit lighter than I normally like for beer to be. It would be a great summer ale. Still, this particular brewery seems to put out a consistently good product...and I love the art-work on the 6-packs and bottles. LOL. Reminds me of Rolling Stone and Hunter S. Thompson.
