Actually I've just been emptying our fridge of alcohol today. We're not really drinking at the moment so I figured it needn't be sitting there.

I was in Knoxville this afternoon having the pick-up worked on. I stopped by McScrooges and brought home:

De Dolle oerbier (dark ale) - Belgium
Einbecker Ur-Bock- Germany
Harvey & Son Imperial Extra Double Stout - UK
Dogfish Head Aprihop (apricot IPA) - US
Dogfish Head Midas Touch (not really beer) - US
Augustijn Ale - Belgium

Also bought 750ml bottles of Basil Hayden (love the stuff) & Glenlivet 12 Year (Macallan was just too expensive there).

Fat Tire in Cans

I love the outdoors and I love Fat Tire. So when my local store got Fat Tire in a can, I bought them out.

Cans are so much better for bike or backpack, but the choices used to be very limited. It's getting better.

Top 3 Canned Beers:
- Fat Tire (New Belgium)
- Dale's Pale Ale (Oskar Blues)
- Real McCoy (Mammoth Brewing)

I'm seldom a beer drinker. I had no idea what I have been missing, but after reading this I'll have to begin experimenting.

Seriously don’t know what everyone’s infatuation with Fat Tire is. Now, I’m not a connoisseur by any stretch, but I at least know when I’m tasting a clean beer. Fat Tire tastes like it was brewed up a hobo’s a** and sure as hell isn’t a clean tasting beer. In not so ‘crude’ terms, it tastes like the beer was scraped from the bottom of the beer vats. Just my opinion, of course ;)

I have some Anchor in my fridge right now. Mix of Liberty Ale, Anchor Steam and the Porter.

I've been going to the local bar a lot more lately though, so not as much drinking a beer at home.

Gag.....this chick wouldn't touch that stuff.

I've got Bell's Oberon, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, Bell's Oberon, a couple of orphaned Heineken's, and Bell's Oberon.

Agreed, I cannot understand why this beer is so popular. Recently added six-pack of Bison Brewing Organic Chocolate Stout, which is pretty good, and cheapo Trader Joe's DunkelWeizen, which is OK.

Well, I think...like many things...it is a question of personal taste. I like Fat Tire okay. It is not my favorite beer of all time, but I will occasionally buy a 6-pack because it is what I want at the moment. On the other hand, I would never by a chocolate stout or a wheat beer no matter what mood I was in. Different strokes for different folks though. While I wouldn't imbibe them, I certainly don't question why you would. ;)
