I booked a trip last week through Delta.com for my wife and I to go visit family. It's a mixed Delta/Northwest itinerary (MCO->CVG->FWA Delta, FWA->DTW->MCO NWA). When I first booked it, I was able to select seats on both of the DL flights and put in for an upgrade on the one that wasn't a RJ. I wasn't able to select seats on the NWA flights. I assumed this was because NWA doesn't release seatmaps until 90 days out.

The schedule on my first DL flight from MCO to CVG changed. It now arrives 2 minutes earlier. On Delta.com, I can no longer select seats for it. The seat picking screen shows both NWA flights and the CVG->FWA flight, but there isn't even a tab for the MCO->CVG flight anymore. The NW flights still show no seat maps.

It's within 90 days of my NWA flights, but Delta.com doesn't allow me to pick seats. I was able to go to NWA.com and chose them there, and it even recognized my Silver Medallion status and let me pick some of the good seats. Even though I selected seats there, my Delta.com itinerary still shows no seat assignments for those flights.

I guess I have three questions for anyone who may know:
1) Why did the MCO->CVG DL flight disappear from my seat selector when the schedule changed? I expect that this is just a bug with the website.
2) If I chose the DL seats from Delta.com and the NWA seats from NWA.com, does it actually work? Is it normal that I can't pick seats for an NWA flight from Delta.com?
3) How do I put in an upgrade request for the NWA flights? It's a 757 from DTW to MCO, but Delta.com says it's an ineligible flight, and I couldn't figure out how to make NWA.com put me in for an upgrade.

I would have thought that the Delta and Northwest reservation systems would be better integrated by now.

Thanks for the help! I figure if I just call Delta, I could at least make sure I get the right seat assignments, but I wouldn't actually learn what's going on.

Have you tried calling NW for your seats/upgrade? I know it defeats the purpose of automation and until all the bugs are worked out during the migration a call will belay any concerns.

The only "." in my e-mail adress is between the "hotmail" and the "com".

However, I am continually having to re-enter my primary e-mail address after signing in. Any news on this getting resolved soon?

No ".'s" in my or Mrs. Italy's email addresses

Separate issue for the Delta Web Guys

Trying to book JAX - NAP - PMO - VCE - FCO - JAX. I am able to book JAX - NAP, however, "No flights are operated between NAP and PMO" for the next segment. Checking Alitalia and SkyTeam I am able to see all the needed segments without issue. What gives? Are the DL and AZ computer systems not bilingual?

I know what's going on here. You'll probably have to call to get this done.

Same reason that if I (who lives in San Diego) wants to take an American Eagle flight to LAX before flying elsewhere, I just have to search for "SAN-XXX" and just keep searching for "SAN-LAX-XXX".

So, you'll have to search "JAX-PMO" and find the itinerary that has "NAP-PMO" in it.

Then everybody who has a "[email protected]" address is in trouble

Online check-in in for NW flight on DL ticket was Kafka-esque.

Itinerary was as follows:
10/3/09
DL 1548: LAX-CVG
DL/Comair 6930: CVG-PVD

10/5/09
NW/Masaba 3498: PVD-MSP
NW 652: MSP-LAX

Checked in online and flew my outbound DL segment, LAX-CVG and CVG-PVD with no problems (well, I was as comfortable as one could get on a 100% packed red-eye from LAX to CVG on a 737. Blah!).

For my return on NW metal, PVD-MSP and MSP-LAX, when I attempted to check in on DL, it redirected me to the NWA site. There it displayed my inbound itinerary, a unique NW PNR number and had a "check in" button that I clicked. It then directed me BACK TO THE DL WEBSITE where I was provided a list of my inbound itinerary which included CVG-PVD, a segment I already flew two days earlier. Even my miles from that segment were already posted on the DL website!

When I clicked "check in" it gave me a message that I have to check in with Comair (huh? How does one do that?), despite having already checked in and flew my Comair segment using the very DL website that's now claiming I have not checked in for that flight, let alone completed it.

I then went to the NWA site and checked in using the NW PNR number and did that successfully.

A real pain!

Add: this happens when trying to use the quick tab "Itineraries & Check-in" tab on the Home page. If I go into the "Traveling and Check-in" tab and click "Itineraries & Check-in" from the pull-down menu, my itinerary summary shows up. BUT, if I click on "Details" to get the entire itinerary, I get that same "Sorry" message.

This sure seems an important bug...
+1

This problem just cropped up for my last 3 itins! ...!? I've never run into this problem before. Calling DL online support is worthless, as is Premier Services. I get the usual "Everything looks good on our end, i.e. itin shows up fine...don't know why you can't see your itin (but I'm too indifferent to really figure out why)...no, we can't check you in over the phone...try back later..." Worthless.

Here's what I'm seeing:

Use case 1) Do Login | Go to Itineraries and Check In Tab | Select itin from list | Click Go --> "System Unavailable We're sorry but this service is not available at this time. Please try again later." I also noticed that in the Itin Search frame, First Name is blank, Last Name contains my Sky Miles Number (huh?), Confirmation # is blank.

Use case 2) 1) Do Login | Go to Itineraries and Check In Tab | Select 'See Summary List' | Voila! Itins appear | Select 'Trip Details' of an itin --> "System Unavailable We're sorry but this service is not available at this time. Please try again later." I also noticed that in the Itin Search frame, First Name is blank, Last Name contains my Sky Miles Number (huh?), Confirmation # is blank.

Hope this helps.

Looking at some flights this month. Upgrade is showing as "Not Eligible" for everything, where the Delta mainline flights should show "Request Only" or "Available".

Dates and destination don't matter. And yes I am logged in as DL Plat.

zip code bug in my profile- I'm trying to edit my profile, it already had my zip code in the zip+4 format, but when I change one character elsewhere in my address it insists the zipcode, as already entered in their system, is no longer acceptable.

Please someone fix e mail notification

My e mail address has been constant for several years (I actually use gmail exclusivly for Delta related communication).
Every time I log in I'm asked for the address and when I go to my profile, it states that the system is unable to deliver messages.
This despite the fact that I get, on average, several a day from Delta.
Please someone fix this issue!

Mrs Italy and I have been plagued by this issue for over six months and even though our email has not changed in over five years and is displayed correctly we have to edit the field and reenter our email address on what is getting to be an all too frequent basis

We know that the IT guys have worked on this and I feel that until the majority of the migration is complete this bug will continue to rear it's ugly head more than less
