"NYC" Option for searching flights?

Hi there,

not sure if this is a bug report or more a feature request (kindly ignore if this is too off-topic) - but what I find really cumbersome is that you can't search for "NYC" on delta.com

I basically don't care if I fly out of JFK, LGA, EWR so what I do is to search other sites for "good flights" and then try to figure out the fare via delta.com...

I'm sure there are other places who have similar issues, too.

Thanks, Sebastian

You can search by New York area airports. Type in NYC and watch the auto-complete options. First one is NYC area airports (which includes over to Newark).

Delta.com OLCI Bug

Hello,

I went to OLCI today at Delta.com.

I am flying two segments SAN-SLC and SLC-CVG.

I received an e-mail yesterday about clearing my SAN-SLC upgrade.

I went to check in today and i was able to do so (no problems there). However, when I went to check my upgrade status on the SLC-CVG, the upgrade list (that feature is very nifty thank you.. and normally works) did not display any passenger information. The base page appears, however the normal (10 of 20 or on the wait-list) wasn't displayed. Nor was the "Wait-list" status etc.

Also, when logging back in, the green "Check-In" button is still displayed on the itinerary instead of the normal link which lets you check the upgrade list etc.

Not a big deal, but thought you might want to know.

I've tested this on IE7, IE8, Firefox 3.5 and Opera 9.5. Both on Windows Vista and CentOS.

If you need more info (or a screenshot), let me know.

Thanks,

Not sure if someone actually fixed it after reading it here, but it appears that the Standby List is working again..

In any case.. Thank you

Can't select and have DL.com or NWA.com allow seat assignments of a "showing available" premium seat that apparently is a KLM code-share. DL-PM here. DL# 9375, departing 9/9/09, ATL->AMS.

True - sorry, I wasn't specific enough: I was talking about the reward ticket search, where I wasn't able to get it to work for me.

Here is a 5 year old problem - Fix the illegal connections. For instance, delta.com allows people to book connections that are less than 45 minutes for domestic and 120 minutes for international.

Flight search sorting - not by departure time

Am I just inept here but I've tried flight search - by schedule - and the sort results are based on TOTAL TRAVEL TIME, not departure time, not arrival time. This happens whether I select a specific time or any time. I've also checked "1 connection only" and gotten multiple connections in the search results. It's not like I'm unfamiliar with the site (although I've been flying UA for the last 2 months from a summer location). Is the NW merger causing glitches?

(If this has been covered before - sorry - there are jillions of pages to this post)

You can sort your results by clicking on the header at the top of each column. I believe the default is travel time and clicking on 'Departs' will sort by time. Travel safe.

I don't think you're inept. That option wasn't obvious to me either.

I think delta.com has some serious usability flaws and if it's going to continue as the new site (in favor of the better nwa.com in my opinion), then I hope they're taking some of the NWA employees to help them clean up the site.

I am trying to book a last-minute flight tomorrow however I may not need to go so I'm requesting refundable fares only. I figure at this point a refundable fare isn't going to be too much more expensive than any non-refundable fares available at this point. However when I click on "View change & cancellation policies" the pop-up window, which takes forever to load, displays "Fare Rules Unavailable."

Unable to Display Fare Rules

The rules and restrictions for the itinerary youve chosen are currently unavailable.

If you have any questions, contact us for help.
Now even though just underneath that link DL.com reports "This ticket is refundable. Fees may apply." I just want to be 100% sure that it is indeed 100% refundable. Also the "fees may apply" although probably not applicable to my ticket, has me wondering if there indeed may be a fee involved.

I realize I could just invoke the 24 hour rule on any ticket I purchase on DL.com but isn't it a DOT rule that there be full fare rules disclosure should I opt to read them? I wonder if an e-mail to the DOT would be in order here?

Update: This error I just received may explain the issue:

System Unavailable

We're sorry but this service is not available at this time. Please try again.
The itinerary I was pricing had one segment in A and the other in B. I modified the search to see how much more it would be if both segments were in A or F. I've had fewer problems with United.BOMB!

OLCI bug - NW and DL flights in itinerary same dat

I ran into an OLCI bug today. I flew TPA-LAX nonstop on NW metal this morning, and I'm returning LAX-ATL-TPA on DL metal tonight.

I had no problem checking in online for my NW flight about 20 hours in advance, and flew that leg without incident.

But this afternoon when I went to check in for my return leg, on the main itineraries screen, the only "More info and Options" link for this itinerary was "Trip Details", with no "Check In" link as typically shown at T-24 before a flight. Once I click the "Trip Details" link, I am taken to a page that shows to "Check In" links. However, when I click on them, a new window opens that says "Redirecting to Northwest". Once this window finished loading, it tells me "Your flight from TPA has departed."

Arriving at the airport with an hour to spare, I thought the kiosk would not let me check in either, but there was no problem there.

I assume that this problem is a combination of being an NW leg followed by a DL leg, and being on the same day. I think I've done similar NW-DL itins on different days that worked without a problem.
