Would you happen to remember if the PS cabin had access to the business class restrooms just in-front of the PS section, or did you have to use the main/coach section bathrooms?

September / October 2019 Data points... 4 A350 PS flights to / from PEK and ICN

There were restrooms forward in the PS cabin. (Unless I'm remembering incorrectly).

Access to D1 was discouraged by a series of curtains.

You could also walk back and use the forward lavs from Coach.

Delta currently has 2 A350-900's sitting at MSP (now for over 2 weeks). These are the first 2 that were delivered to DL (N501DN and N502DN). These were delivered in 2019-June/July time-frame (almost exactly 3 years ago). I looked at a few sites about this type of aircraft to determine when "checks" are to occur - "C-checks" are from 18 to 36 months apart (depending upon the airline company). Based on these criteria, am I way off base on this is what is going on with these 2 aircraft at MSP? My original thinking was that they were having C+ seats added (which will need to happen eventually to all 13) and / or installing additional fuel tank(s) to handle the ATL-JNB (via CPT on the west bound trip) for the extended distance: the current 13 DL A359's cannot make this leg. This round-trip is scheduled to be converted on 2020-October 24 (according to the companies current online schedule). For the daily service, there needs to be 2 frames, 1 would be able to do the route 3 times a week. But what I have read in this and other blogs, is that ATL-JNB is a very popular route and most of the times it goes each way 100% full. The current A359 DL online schedule works for the remainder of the year without having any additional A359's being delivered. But as the B777-200's get retired within this year, DL will need to readjust some of the upcoming A359 schedule or at least 4 additional frames will need to be delivered: (current online schedule shows 777 to 359 swaps on 2021-January-01 {place-holders, I know}: LAX-HND, ATL-PVG, LAX-PVG, LAX-SYD, and JFK-BOM). JFK-BOM continues to show B777-200LR through 2021-May-15.

NO, I DON'T THINK SO......DL has parked their aircraft in multiple places other than MSP. Try again!

Not the best way to encourage engagement with your questions.

It's possible Delta is doing maintenance on the aircraft in MSP, but since MSP isn't a major A359 station for Delta (at least not yet) I would be surprised if that's where they did maintenance on them (a C check would require lots of aircraft-specific parts to be in stock which Delta almost certainly doesn't keep at every hub; DTW and ATL would be more likely to have the relevant inventory). In the past Delta had some heavy maintenance checks on long-haul aircraft done in low-cost locations overseas, notably MNL, but I don't know if they're continuing that practice with the A350.

As for getting 4 more A350s delivered this year, we don't know what contractual obligations Delta has with Airbus, but Delta has made it pretty clear they are trying to avoid taking (and paying for) any new aircraft deliveries in the near future. Given market conditions there is no reason to expect that the full 2019 long-haul flying schedule will return any time soon, and certainly not by January, so Delta will have plenty of A350s to go around.

Hi question about where to sit in A350 D1 Suites. First time flying in this product. Someone beat me to 5A and i have to choose between 3A and 7A. I was wondering if anyone knew which is furthest from their respective closest bathroom? And which galley is typically the busier/noisier one the way DL has their A350 set up? I'm not too worried that 3 might get more foot traffic with ppl going to the front lavs. Not a huge deal with the door. I like that 3 would get meal service a little quicker. All that aside the 2 biggest things for me are not hearing the bathroom & not being by the busier/louder galley. The Seat Guru map shows the DL A350 restrooms in diff locations than on say Qatar or SQ. The front lav shows closer to Row 1 rather than being right by the cockpit .The lav behind D1 is after Door 2 as opposed to in front of it how it is with Qatar & SQ. If this diagram is correct then 7 might actually be farther from a restroom. Apparently 5 is the hot seat. Both Row 5's on each side are taken. Any suggestions on 3 Vs. 7 are appreciated. Thanks in advance

I see someone asked this above but are the 2 lavs at the front of PE for PE or additional lavs for D1 or just open to both cabins?

2 lavs for 32 in DL seems like a lot of people in a premium cabin for just 2 restrooms

I don't know about exact distance between those two, but I sat in 7A MSP-ICN in a full D1 cabin and there was minimal foot traffic to the rear lavs. I had absolutely no qualms with the seat.

N501DN (A359) is back in service after over 2 months at MSP. N502DN (A359) is still at MSP. So, at this point, all but 1 of the 13 A359's are being actively used on TPAC routes and also doing (TATLs) DTW-AMS, DTW-CDG, ATL-AMS, and ATL-CDG round trip legs. Eight active round trip legs - the previous 4 plus: DTW-ICN, ATL-ICN, DTW-HND, and ATL-HND - of these last 4, only DTW-ICN appear to be running daily. According to DL's schedule, the next routes going A359's are: LAX-HND (eff 24-Oct-2020), DTW-PVG (eff 26-Oct-2020), and ATL-JNB-CPT-ATL (eff 12-Dec-2020). Delta has also moved the following routes off A359's to probably A333's (eff 1-Oct-2020): DTW-CDG, ATL-CDG, and ATL-AMS. LAX-SYD goes A359 1-Jan-2021 from B77L (this route will be stopped in the last half of October). As stated previously, LAX-HND goes A359 (from B772) 24-Oct-2020. These are the last 2 DL B777 routes flown and therefore the fleet will be retired before Halloween (31-Oct-2020). All A359 routes that will be operating as of year end 2020, very easily can be done with the current 13 aircraft - I'm sure MOST will not be daily service. The remaining TPAC routes that will be on DL's schedule for A359 aircraft (that are to begin/swapped/restarted/etc): LAX-PVG (eff 28-Mar-2021), MSP-ICN (eff 28-Mar-2021), and MSP-HND (eff 28-Mar-2021). While none will probably be a daily occurrence, Delta SHOULD have no problems covering all routes until passenger traffic returns - whenever that might be. Oh, btw - JFK-BOM has been permanently nixed, and ATL-PVG has been also pushed out beyond 15-July-2021. It appears that Delta is using the stop-over in ICN to get the PVG bound passengers to their final destination (on Delta Metal - either as A359 or A339) for a while. My guess is the final B777 scheduled passenger flight will be LAX-ATL sometime late October 2020. Delta has used this B777-200LR city pairs to reposition (or swap out) aircraft from ATL. Sorry, some of my bantering should have been placed onto another thread about DL's trip 7 retirements, but all this does sort of fits here too. I'm sure someone has all ready determined flight date flight number. I did the last B774 DTW-ICN-DTW back in 2017-December - The aircraft overnight-ed in ICN so round trip was very lengthy (without sleep). It was still a thrill - the only thing missing was an upstairs seat.

Sorry, I over looked DTW-PKX (PEK) - which appears to be also pushed out past 15-July-2021.

@Zainth.. Thx for that.. How about the galley, no issues from 7A? Also, did you find being at the back as far as getting served food was in an issue in any way? I def feel 7A would have far less foot traffic than 3A which would be nice. Thx

Nice summary. On the 777 thread, the last LAX-ATL they could find was 9/5. I grabbed a seat on that flight just in case.

Yea no issues from the galley. With the seat behind you there's actually a decent amount of distance from it in 7A. As far as food service they did start from the front but they were very efficient and I felt like I got my meal not significantly long after those closer to the front.

Just looked at pricing for out 9/4 and back 9/5. Somewhat tempting...
