It's been confirmed on a.net that 3520 has the 35H config. The 35Ls will also get converted to this config, supposedly later this year, but we'll see if that timeline holds. Unsure on the original DL-359 config'd aircraft.

DL has been using NRT to induct most of its widebodies for a number of years now. It started as a way to avoid tariffs (see this article) and has continued even though those tariffs are gone.

Thanks! I figured that there was a logical explanation for the trip halfway around the world prior to putting it into service.
I hadn't heard about the tariff avoidance, so I had guessed it was some kind of modification or upgrade beyond the original configuration.

Good question, maybe adding it now will not increase the 359 routes structure but will allow DL to start altering the interiors of their current 306 seat a/c to 275. The only routes I have investigated on for the foreseeable future is: LAX-PVG (either 3/wk or daily) (effective July-2024), LAX-SYD (the return of the 2nd daily offering effective October-2024), and DTW-PVG (going from 3/wk to daily) (unknown on probable dates and maybe not happening et all...SEA-PVG has been daily for a while now using the A339neos).

N520DN - now heading for ATL as DL9979. It MAY do some domestics before beginning international flights May 1st. My guess it will be ATL-JNB or ATL-CPT.

Maybe a quick ATL-MCO domestic test hop. They use to do this with the 777s.

Booked in the 35H (higher density D1 cabin, J-40) mini D1 cabin on ATL-ICN on June 6. Does anyone have any reviews? It looks like only ONE is in revenue service; odds of me getting bumped out on an equipment swap?

A 2nd 35H has been delivered (May 3th) but has yet to have a revenue flight. DL is scheduled to have 5 more delivered this year, but I have no firm dates on these.
