Got a work TPAC in a few weeks that I just booked. Options are either PS bulkhead (middle row only), row 24/25 aisle (in the 2 section) or any aisle on the middle section.

Seems like the bulkhead has fans and detractors. Legroom sounds appealing but not sure if it’s necessary (I’m 5’ 11’’) vs having the bigger screen and under seat storage that I’d have in row 25.

Any strong opinions?

I wouldn't really take into account the screen size. Sure, the bulkheads are smaller but the screens are already pretty massive anyway. The extra legroom and not having to get up over your neighbor (or them get up over you) makes the bulkhead feel way more private imo.

What's 30B like on a A350-900

I realise that Flying Y isn't really a big thing on here, but I'm hoping someone can help.

Flying DTW to AMS some time in the future. V fare booked via KLM on codeshare, so I can select normal main cabin seats.

I've picked a random aisle seat as far forward as I could, but I've noticed that the middle ones of the bulkhead row 30 are available to me.

What's 30B like? I'll have space to stretch, but will I have reasonable access to the aisle with the bulkhead being there? I'm 6'1" so I don't mind if I get a bit of bonus space. Plus, if there's a bit of space between me and bulkhead, I won't be climbed over, either.

Or do I keep 34C as planned?

The one thing that comes to my mind with it being a Y bulkhead is that the seat width is probably a little less than you would get in a standard seat. Bulkhead seats have the tray table in the armrest, and the armrest is immovable. So you lose a little bit of width.

Delta One Suites - A350 Middle Seats are Terrible

My first post......just thought I would relay my experience on the A350.

By way of background I travel frequently (probably 6-7 times per year) to Shanghai and Beijing. Usually, I am able to manage my schedule such that I am able to book far ahead and thus get a window seat. I just got back yesterday afternoon flying from PVG to DTW (final destination PWM where I live) and I had to alter my schedule at the last minute and could only get a middle seat in Delta One (seat 5B).

As a warning to other travellers, the middle seat lacks and air vent. I knew about this design decision but had never experienced it before first hand. For those of you that like to travel on the colder side, I would tell you to avoid the middle stack in the A350 at all costs. I wouldn't describe the experience as "miserable" per se (we are talking first world problems here) but the cabin was unacceptably hot and VERY uncomfortable.

I don't understand why Delta chose to configure the A350 this way, but this will be the first and the LAST time I fly a middle suite in the A350 (if I can't get a window I will move on to the 777).

Has anyone else experienced this? It is simply terrible. Can anyone point me in the right direction for Delta customer service to give feedback? Maybe if there are enough complaints they may decide to reconfigure the A350.

Sometimes I look at that as a bonus, as 'my' space is properly delimited. It's the forward space I'm thinking about really. Does it feel less enclosed?

Where's the IFE? Is that in the armrest as well?

Is it these seats, but the other side of the plane?

We have been on Delta One on the A350’s 2 or 3 times to and from Asia, always sitting together in the middle. We loved the experience. Temperature was just right.

Sure. But I don't think it's a question of cost - more a question of convenience and availability. Don't have time to stop and get one, etc.

Couldn't DL afford to stock some on board on A350s (where they know this is a recurring complaint) and hand them out to passengers in the middle suites who have temperature/airflow issues?

The point is, the argument cuts both ways. There's a reason all their other 'business class' seats have air flow options - to give folks sitting in a premium seat the option, the choice, to decide on their own (on board, without pre-planning or extra time or action needed).

I flew PEK to DTW in Row 30 (granted it was the aisle seat). Not a bad place to be, plenty of leg room. Sometimes people cut through 'your' space to get to the other side of the plane, but you can remedy that by having your legs, shoes, etc. there to discourage that. IFE is in the armrest - must be stowed on final approach and climb out is the only downside. Overall, not a bad option if you have to fly coach.

Did you have the suite door open or closed? I've heard about the lack of airflow given the doors, with the lack of air vents insult to injury.

Is the crew rest above the business class cabin and that why there aren't luggage bins or air vents?

FWIW, I think the fan is a perfectly reasonable solution - just buy one and keep it in your travel bag. I have a "fancier" one that is like a small box fan with a battery (but charges or can run on USB) and it attaches to a gooseneck with a clip on the end. But the one linked above seems pretty convenient, especially if you can plug it directly into the seat's USB port and aim it at your face (both when sitting and sleeping).
I do agree that DL should consider stocking these on board for the center seat pax.

I have never been on a 737-900er when I DIDN'T ask them to turn down the temperature in the oven plane.

Back on topic. I am quite temperature sensitive and have never had a problem without the gasper vents over the center section. So many international carriers don't have them.
