It is, but it also makes the cabin very dark and if you're not seated at a window seat you won't be able to look out the window during take off and landing. Seeing even that helps against motion sickness and claustrophobia for me - I don't really suffer from it but I feel the difference.

IMO the large majority of reverse herringbone seats give ample privacy and don't have the pains of the "suites".

By way of background I travel frequently (probably 6-7 times per year) to Shanghai and Beijing. Usually, I am able to manage my schedule such that I am able to book far ahead and thus get a window seat. I just got back yesterday afternoon flying from PVG to DTW (final destination PWM where I live) and I had to alter my schedule at the last minute and could only get a middle seat in Delta One (seat 5B).

As a warning to other travellers, the middle seat lacks and air vent. I knew about this design decision but had never experienced it before first hand. For those of you that like to travel on the colder side, I would tell you to avoid the middle stack in the A350 at all costs. I wouldn't describe the experience as "miserable" per se (we are talking first world problems here) but the cabin was unacceptably hot and VERY uncomfortable.

I don't understand why Delta chose to configure the A350 this way, but this will be the first and the LAST time I fly a middle suite in the A350 (if I can't get a window I will move on to the 777).

Has anyone else experienced this? It is simply terrible. Can anyone point me in the right direction for Delta customer service to give feedback? Maybe if there are enough complaints they may decide to reconfigure the A350.
Flown 5B . It was uneventful, which to me is a perfect flight. Folks seem to make a big deal about nothing because they read prior complaints and choose to believe before experiencing them self. One only see what one chooses to believe. I think I even used my blanket. If you choose to wear a wool onesy YMMV.

N502DN (A350-900) appears to be heading to JFK from ICN (March 9th) according flightradar24 as DL flight 8874. The site does not say anything about any diversion-ing. Any ideas as to why its being sent to some place that it is not needed? Or, is DL attempting to see if the A359's might be used on the JFK BOM legs for a while? I believe it has the range.

Delta's website advertises that the A350 D1 suites have a pitch of "76-81 in" -- does anyone know a way to determine which seats/rows have the 81 inches versus the 76 inches (or something in the middle).

I ask because, being 79 inches tall myself, I'd much prefer the 81 inches to the 76 inches.

I wonder when Delta is going to do the interior upgrades on the current 13 A359s. That will eventually happen. Now, seems like a good time since all 13 are not needed for their current flying routes - I believe 5 of them are "sort of stored" and would be easily gone through the upgrade without impacting any one or any routes. Is this additional expense that DL doesn't need or want at this time?

Almost certainly yes. These are perilous times, there is no money for optional things like this.

What upgrades are you talking about? These planes are only 2-3 years old.

I'm curious what happens to the 10 on order. (DL took over the order as part of LATAM purchase)

DL is planning to add C+ to the 350s at some point. And as of today (literally), the swap is still on:

Not surprising they went ahead with the swap.

Per a TPG article from last fall (https://thepointsguy.com/news/delta-...-airbus-a350s/), it appears the LATAM delivery slots are 2021 - 2025. I assume the terms on these don't require payment until they are actually delivered so it's not like DL owes the $3B list price today, they've simply taken over the delivery slots at this point.
