Rows are slightly misaligned. You in the middle will be looking out and seeing between the rows in the window.

Do remember that for most of the 12 hour flight that the windows will be shut. Crew normally are good about ensuring so that people can sleep.

Congrats! How many miles were required, and what fare class did you originally book in PS?

It was a G fare I believe? And it cost me 45K. I've been living in Shanghai all summer and flying coach everywhere, decided to treat myself.

So, I was in PS on a G fare, now I'm OY. What will I get regarding MQMs? Since it's an upgrade via miles I would assume I accrue based on the old G fare still?

You should get credited based on what you paid for. There have been reports of not being credited correctly after upgrades but I think those have all been on partner flights where the fare classes don't align etc. So you should be fine, but keep an eye out anyway

If it's DL metal it'll always base off the paid fare. The errors come into play when upgrading partner metal flights.

Just took the 350 DTW-AMS; J (DL Suites) over and Y (Priority Select) back.

I admit I thought the suites/door were a gimmick, but it does give an extra level of privacy and was really nice. As others have noted, the seat is not the greatest but I really had a good flight. The food (crab cake) was great, DL seems to have upped it's game on food recently.

PS was really good too. I can't sleep in the seat but otherwise very comfortable. The service was awesome and the food was really good for Y, maybe the best I have ever had; they should have thrown a small cheese plate on there though (like they do in domestic F sometimes). I stuck with a seat in row 22 in the middle section in the hope the middle seat would be free, but it was not. I felt a little sorry for the guy next to me. I have just booked another trip and took the bulkhead on the 2 side as the person in the window can easily get out. The only drawback is the smaller screen.

Good product

A350 comments

I recently flew the A350 in a Delta One suite RT USA to ASIA non-stop, and here are my beefs with the hard product: (1) The 'foot rest' is more like a calf rest, I would really like to be able to rest my FEET on a support when I put the seat in more of what the controls call 'Relaxed or Lounge' position, and (2) I was really hoping the bed would have more padding than Delta's other lie-flat seats, though I expected Delta to continue to have a hard, less padded bed. They did not disappoint - it is still too hard. I do think it may be thicker padding, but it still was very hard. Other airlines bring out mattress pads EVEN when their seat/bed is already more comfortable than Delta's A350 bed without such pad.

The pluses that sadly do not compensate for the hard bed include: (1) room to actually sit personal items and electronics, and (2) following from #1 , finally, a tray table that one can open/close without having to move things away from the lid to that tray table. It opens out easily without an engineering degree and without having to relocate your personal items/electronics. It is ONE piece, yes, it does not fold in the middle. I'll never forget how absolutely ridiculous the process was to open the tray table when flat bed seats were first introduced on the 767s.

On my recent A350 flight, I was against the window, so I was OK with the AC vents; however, it would have driven me crazy to not be able to adjust those as I like it COLD.

Do people really try these seats out before production?

Just my perceptions as I was hoping this would lure me back to DL for more of my TATL/TPAC flights as the number of A350s grew, but alas, it did not.

And I say that sadly as meals have improved to the point I sometimes have a meal that I would consider restaurant quality, it goes without saying the flight crews always excel.

I assume it's just a bug with fares but it is not Saturday so figured it was worth calling out. Looking at DTW->PVG routes and it no longer gives the option for premium select. If your origination point is PVG it works. Connections also do not appear to work if they originate in the US.

Still seeing Premium Select offered on DTW-PVG. Could you give an example of what you are talking about??

Search on the Delta site for DTW->PVG. It won't show Premium Select as an option (I tried dates from October through December). If you search PVG->DTW - even such that the outbound / return legs are the same dates - it shows up.

Google Flights (and by extension Matrix) are also confused so it's not just a Delta presentation bug but an actual issue with published fares.

Interestingly, if you reverse the route it works fine. This tells me that it is a fare bug and not some sort of proactive block on new bookings due to a planned equipment change.
