Delta's Operational move from T5 to T2/3 at LAX:

Delta has moved to: T2 and T3 with eventual connector to TBIT (note: there is currently only airside bus service to stay securely between T2 & T3, the walking connector has not been built yet.)

Where to check bags: As of January 13, 2020, non-Sky Priority customers must check their bag(s) at the terminal their flight departs from, unless their flight departs from TBIT, in which case, they must check their bag at Terminal 2. Sky priority customers can check their bag at either terminal. See this link for more information.

Date(s) of move: May 12, 2017 - May 17, 2017

Here is a helpful chart from Delta which covers all Domestic / Int'l. transfer combos (AND TOTAL TRANSFER TIMES) between T2, T3 & TBIT.

New Bus Routes will help with connections:
- Circular Airfield Bus between TBIT, T2 and T3
- Airfield Bus between T2 and T3

Bus Map

Will there be a SkyClub: Yes, there is one in each terminal. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse will remain.
- The SkyClub in T2 opened on May 20th (Former AC Maple Leaf Lounge)
pix in post 1058
- The SkyClub in T3 opened on May 24th (Former VX Loft)

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...d-updates.html

Where Will The Delta One Check In Lounge Be Located:

Delta will temporarily offer dedicated check-in space in Terminal 2 (first door closest to T1) while a long-term Delta One experience is finalized.
In T2, there is a small Delta One seating area with refreshments. An agent will escort you from the check in/lounge area through a back pathway up stairs to TSA precheck. Its a shorter walk to check-in at SkyPriority and easier if you have a carry on and don't want to drag it up a flight of stairs. 11/3/17)

Airlines joining DL in T2/3 for landside and departures:
- AeroMexico (T2)
- Virgin Atlantic (T2)
- WestJet (T3)

Landside T2 only, departures from TBIT:
- Virgin Australia
- Volaris

Landside T3 only, departures from TBIT:
- Avianca/Taca
- Copa (effective April 7)
- InterJet

Will there be secure links between T2-T3 and TBIT: Yes, the final plan is to let pax walk between all airside.

You selectively quoted me

The report was useful. The conclusion "don't trust bus service" seemed unfounded based on the evidence, and that was the point I was making.

I've added below the sentences that you removed my quote, which provide the context:

Just to confirm, no boarding pass is required for bus to TBIT? I'm flying into LAX from PHX but connecting to Asiana, not a fellow Sky Team airline. Also arriving around 8pm so it sounds like bus should be running at that time but we have a 3:30 connection time so should be okay even if we need to re-clear at TBIT.

No BP required for bus. Just let the bus agent know that you need to go to TBIT because some busses only go between T2/T3.

What is going on with Gate 133? Gate 133 seems to be an assigned Delta gate in TBIT and I see DL planes there all the time. The LAX map on the Delta.com website even points it out.

Now sure the confusion. Part of the move was so that DL got T3/T2/TBIT gates.

I wonder which international flights go out of 133?

It looks like HND always goes out of Gate 133 but arrives at Gate 26. PVG is the exact opposite and arrives at Gate 133 but always goes out of Gate 133. SYD is almost always Gate 26. Also the 3:00pm MCO flight always goes out of 133 and the inbound is from SJO.

Thanks MCO Flyer, I had no idea that DL used TBIT (I only thought it was T2 and T3), and then DL wanted access to TBIT for connections with partners (the future connector). MCO is a little strange, but lucky for you.

I always enjoy TBIT as it is one of the best terminals in North America. It also doesn't hurt that the destination out of there is typically somewhere oversees for vacation.

I had a domestic departure out of TBIT 133 a few weeks ago (LAX-ATL on the 777)

That's got me thinking. I have a 40-min cnxn from DL1126, a 777 ATL-LAX, to DL 1719 LAX-HNL, Sat Sep 2. Should I be worried? Obviously, I'd like to get to Hawaii four hours earlier than the next cnxn. Sitting up front--no special snowflake, just faster exit.

I think that was just an off one as the 777 from ATL-LAX has been arriving at Gate 26 for the past couple of days. I wouldn't be woried as even if your flight is in T3 the bus ride takes less than 5 min and T3 is just a big circle terminal so all of the Gates are in pretty much one area.

Thanks, MCO Flyer. Should have checked FlightAware--don't see any 1126 TBIT arrivals, and 1719 departures from T3 are just Sundays, at least lately.

just did OLCI for 530pm LAX-SEA and discovered no TSA Pre ... guess that means I'll have to drop the rental car at 330 rather than 415, which isn't really a big deal, but I'm certainly glad I blocked my calendar after 3

If you expected TSA Pre because you're a member of a trusted traveler program, just try checking in again. Each time check in happens, the request for TSA Pre is essentially retried.
