There may still be some confusion over East and West Berlin construction methods.

At the DTW main sc right now and someone was complaining he couldnt guest his four year in for free with his am ex card (I couldn't tell which one he had) when I checked in. He was complaining his wife and him each had a card they pay a big annual fee on and they fly Delta all the time and a four year old wasn't going to eat much or drink lol. The dragon said the policy has been in effect for quite some time and he told her he has always been able to bring on his four year old with no problem but the dragon didn't bite. Not sure how it turned out but I don't see them up here. I felt like telling him if they flew delta that much they would have known about this change that happened over six months ago and he would also be diamond which would allow him to guest in two people currently anyway

I have never seen the sc this dead on a Thursday morning. Not sure if the changes have anything to do with ur or if it's because it's New Years eve or a combo of the two. Wish it was this quiet all the time, only me and one other person in the back work area where there are the four cubicles and wifi is very fast

Perhaps, but I'm going to go with the guy/gal that was there especially since I see similar behavior all the time. Besides, 2 rollaboards + large duffel + personal item is still more than what two people should be carrying. I'm assuming "large duffel" means something that should really be considered a full bag vs. personal item.

What bugs me most isn't even really Mr. Zone 3 lugging all that aboard. It's the complete indifference that the GA showed. If he's carrying things for someone else, fine, but that should at least result in the GA stopping him to ask, and him having to explain that his companion is still in the shop/restroom/PF Changs/whatever.

Because they are common use and designed and implemented by the airport. The airlines don't have much room to put their own systems on there. Everything in the Terminal is designed to be able to be used by all airlines. In practice, individual gates are still dedicated to the sole use of an airline, but if on a moment's notice the airlines had to relocate, no infrastructure would have to change. the same goes for the check-in counters.

When logging on, an agent selects the airline and it brings up the GDS, but the GIDS are on a separate system.

I'm not sure what a "gazillion" actually is, but it sure sounds like a lot. Maybe her husband took the round trip from ATL to DSoM (dark side of the moon) weekly this year.
That's where the KM card comes in handy.

Saw one on a MAD-ATL flight today. 767-300 where 13 is the first row in Y. The woman in 13C gets onboard late and finds bags in the bins above Row 13. She starts demanding to know who put them there saying it's "her space". Of course it turns out the people in 13AB did it and it's certainly their space too

Whereupon she apologized profusely for the disruption, respectfully asked whether she could use somebody else's bin space, meekly took her seat, and wished everyone a happy new year .

Came into post about a similar experience at JFK T4 SC this morning. "Passenger" in front of us needed several levels of explaining that domestic paid F tickets do not necessarily automatically yield SC access. Dragon was extremely nice and welcoming, even after harsh attitude from passenger. She explained he was welcome after $50 one-time-fee, etc. Just a crappy attitude from the dude. I thought they were going to need to call someone to escort him out.

NYE, is my guess. JFK was extremely mellow, SC was, dare I say, pleasant?

Thanks for the explanation.

This seems like a shortsighted, airport-friendly vs. airline- or passenger-friendly decision. If other airports can pull this off, RDU can pull this off. They've done a lot to make us not look like a hick station, but this is a (minor) cattle-town move.
