You just missed me then. I had just enough time to get a drink and a meal as well as a quick wander around. Not 100% sure about the stark white everywhere but overall very nice.

Now that SFO is online LAX should be ashamed at how their new "update" turned out, compared to a lot of their own clubs it is just terrible. If you are going to spend the time and money along with the hype then you should do it properly.

No, DL used to have a 2nd skyclub at SFO, in the international terminal. It closed down when the NRT flight ended. It is currently unused.

That would be nice. What does that have to do with whether DL will add international flights at SFO?

We are talking about the ex-NW WorldClub, right? For some reason I thought that AF moved their lounge to this new location.

...and for us Amex Plat customers it is now a Priority Pass lounge. It was the nice build out the NW also had in MEM, ORD, and MSP with fireplaces.

I was responding to the question about why DL might be investing in such a nice club at SFO given the limited operation.

However, the PMNW Wcs at DCA were land side and they were usually packed. IIRC, there was a deal where the lounge dragon could escort WC members (both not those with access via other methods) to the front of the security line or to the separate premium cabin or elite line if they didn't otherwise qualify to use it.

This club is nice.

I have yet to take a shower, which I will tomorrow. There is artwork that represents the distinct businesses in SF that are pretty cool. There's a collage of Apple, Google, Ghiradelli, etc. I'll take some pictures tomorrow.

I am fair to the Landside location. It was pretty quiet all the time and you can easily find a comfy corner to hide. When traveling with friends, we could all meet up there before heading to our own respective airlines.

Plans call for it to become a USO lounge.

I'll give you that it was quiet, but I don't expect the new one to ever be crazy as DL's operations are limited at SFO.

As for being able to meet friends, SFO is working to connect all terminals plane side so this should not longer be an issue when that is complete.

I did not realize this but I very much look forward to being able to access the Centurion Lounge easily(ish) when flying Delta.

Hardly true. SFO has a long term goal to complete the airside connections in the next few decades. None of them are actually being worked on. If I had friends I wanted to meet, I wouldn't suggest waiting decades, I'd probably make an alternative plan.

Ya, basically they're doing it as they rebuild the terminals. Terminal 1 (boarding area B to board area C connection) is next in line, but won't be done for almost 10 years. The rest are only planned after that.
