I registered for it. It's interesting that it does not seem to require flying anywhere or doing anything, other than registering.
They've been promoting it pretty heavily on twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/Delta

I do not understand the Tokyo promotion. I already get double miles when I fly as a Gold Medallion. Is there any chance that these are double MQMs?

HANEDA (Tokyo / southwest-side airport - used to be domestic only)-- Service resumes June 16, 2011 - Had been halted due to quake.
Triple bonus Miles in First; Double bonus miles in Coach (no, not 3x or 2x MQM)

Good catch - been swamped at work.

1. Existing members: http://dmn.delta.com/ace_offers/haneda/
-- The link http://delta.com/hndtokyobonus redirects to this.

2. New members (and gives you a SkyMiles account): http://dmn.delta.com/DSMWeb/Enrollment?offer=haneda

I'm miffed that I missed the 2-day or so cheapo fare this past mid-week that AFWD blabbed about.

FLY NONSTOP FROM L.A. OR DETROIT TO
TOKYO-HANEDA AND GET UP TO TRIPLE FLOWN MILES.

Now you can register to earn triple flown miles for each BusinessElite® paid flight or double flown miles for each Economy Class paid flight between Los Angeles (LAX) and Tokyo-Haneda (HND)—service resumes June 2, 2011—or Detroit (DTW) and Tokyo-Haneda (HND)—service resumes June 16, 2011.

This offer comes at a great time, as we resume these two nonstop routes after confirming with several organizations—including the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo—that traveling to Japan is safe. And since Tokyo-Haneda offers a convenient location closer to the city center, you’ll save more time and money getting exactly where you need to be.

To take advantage of this offer, register by September 15, 2011, and then fly on these nonstop flights through September 30, 2011. Bonus miles may be earned for multiple trips during this promotion—even for one-way flights.

Triple bonus / flown miles for First;
Double bonus / flown miles for Coach.
-- This does not mean 3x or 2x MQM.
-- There are no DMQM promos going on on DL right now to my knowledge.

If you have a Delta AmEx you get any extra bonus/flown mileage there as well, and you get the Mileage% based on class of service, too.

I registered for it. It's interesting that it does not seem to require flying anywhere or doing anything, other than registering.
I found 3 promos which are prizes for the "Delta Dugout" promotion, which apparently run this May for 4 days each, and are no longer active as of today. Rules from their T&Cs, for the record:

1. Yankee Spring Training Offer: https://dmn.delta.com/DSMWeb/Enrollm...SpringTraining -- May 5, 2011 through May 9, 2011. 5/5 – YANKEES 2012 SPRING TRAINING PACKAGE (4) tickets to Yankees Spring Training. Includes Hotel, game tickets, pre-game functions. Airfare and Hotel provided by Delta. AVR: $3,200 Awarded through Promotion Enrollment Tool. Customer Service Representative Code 970240 (for all three promos).

2. Mets 360 Offer: http://dmn.delta.com/DSMWeb/Enrollment?offer=Mets360 -- 12, 2011 through May 16, 2011. METS DELTA SKY360 PACKAGE – (2) Mets Delta Sky360 Club tickets to the July 20th game vs. the St. Louis Cardinals. Meet and Greet with Josh Thole before the game. AVR: $2,300. . Awarded through Twitter.

3. Yankees 360 Offer: Pictures are up, but cannot register any more -- https://dmn.delta.com/ace_offers/Yankees360/ -- May 16, 2011 through May 19, 2011
-This week’s Delta Dugout prize is a Yankees Delta Sky360 Suite Package for two, including:
• Two Delta Sky360 Suite tickets to the June 25th game vs. Colorado Rockies
• A meet and greet with Curtis Granderson (of the Yankees)
before the game. AVR: $2,300. Awarded through Twitter.

I wonder whether they will continue with these "Dugout" contests/offers, maybe every four days throughout the baseball season? (wishful thinking, I am sure)

DL/Amex Status Match Program

Yesterday I received in the mail an offer by Amex/DL (the invitation came from Amex) to match my CO Status thru 2/28/12 (9 months). No challenge required, just fax a copy of my last CO statement to a phone # or email a scanned copy to an email address. I don't believe that DL or Amex knows my status (I am CO Plat) and the invite said it was because I was a good Amex customer. As a data point, I use *wood Amex about 25-30K a year.
Seems too good to pass up.

If you use the Amex to buy your airline tickets, then they might be able to extrapolate out how much you fly, and they are making a calculated guess, based on most of your tickets being on CO, and how many, etc. That is my guess. They also know where you live, and based on where your hotel stays are, they might calculate the amount of flying that way too, as an additional factor for their airline status estimates. Again, just my guesses.

new signup bonus?

I'm opening a new SkyMiles account. Is there any way to get some bonus miles for signing up? Thanks, y'all.

Waiting for Dbl MQM's

By 6/1 of last year Delta had a couple of Dbl MQM's out. Nothing this year? Has anyone heard any rumors if or when they may start this year? Last 3 years have always used it to get to Platinum level.

If you haven't flown yet I'm betting you can still get the bonus miles.
