Appreciate the responses friends! I will go with an e-gift card then as expected.

I really like the idea of selling it too...so I will check out CardCash!!! AA is not a preferred airline of ours...so just looking to cash in on the credit somehow instead of just wasting it!

DP for you: Bought an e-gift card on 1/25, travel credit issued on 1/27. Sold on Card Cash for $74.

Bought a $100 AA e-gc on Feb 08, credit posted on Feb 11...so all went well here too.

Going to head over to Card Cash now since AA is not a preferred airline for us. This will be my first experience selling there. Any tips or advice?

EDIT: already sold for the same $74 price...couldn't have been easier!

Had to top up some AA miles, so bought for $225.75 on 2/19.
Needle moved on 2/21 for full $100 credit.
Waiting for credit to hit account.

Go to the Rewards tab of the account page, then in a column to the right hit the "View rewards and benefits" blue button.
