The drive isn't so bad. You could even head down through Natchitoches and swing by Zwolle for some tamales. ^

I can't believe I have missed every snowfall in Houston this decade. Christmas Eve 2004 I was at my parents' house, and while it was much colder there than in Houston, it was far drier there than along the coast. Last year I was in Texas on the snow day, but in Dallas, where we barely got a flurry. And today I'm in LA.

Baton Rouge was forecasting some snow this evening when I left there last night. I'm sure it will be long gone by the time I get back there on Sunday evening.

Louisiana should get a decent dumping from this storm. Most falling there over this evening. Once you get East of Baton rouge, the snow line will track inland over a SW-NE diagonal, with more inland areas getting it. Lake Charles area should get a decent accumulation tonight.

And yet you are still on UA.

What's wrong with UA? Where else can you fly close to 4,000 miles over four segments without leaving the continental US and upgrade it for a single "500 mile" upgrade certificate? And not be charged extra for all those miles and connections?

Might have to do it once. I am already planning to hit SHV and AEX for two of my trips to Nacogdoches next year. I need the extra miles anyway, since I've redeemed a ton of OnePass miles this year for front cabin award tickets.

Hmmm. That bird needs to RON after flying in from IAH, so it could get scrubbed or their may be crew rest issues if they arrive too late.

Grrr... this is what I was afraid of. We are going to show up and see if it gets oversold due to pax missing flights today.

Anything that's falling from the skies over Baytown/Channelview/Deer Park/Pasadena/Galena Park is best avoided. Odds are it's highly toxic no matter what it is. Not sure why anyone lives in those areas.

If you go through Natchitoches, be sure to try one of their famous meat pies. They're like giant cajun empanadas.

ETA - It's pronounced "Nacadish." Go figure.

I'm all about the UA E-500 upgrade rape on ATL-MSY trips, while maximizing RDMs and EQMs and adding new FM lines.
