And they have a great Winter Festival!! There is a plaque in the downtown area that reads "This is the site of where we drove the Native Americans from this area" Now there is something to be proud of! NOT!!

Sadly, in parts of Louisiana, successfully expelling the non-white skinned people is a badge of pride.

Let's not forget that this is the state that came close to electing a Klan grand wizard as its governor almost 20 years ago.

CO announces SNA-OGG. These Hawaii markets are saturating quickly...

That is why I think it makes great sense to use 737s on the routes. Increase utilization and grab some revenue from niche markets. There are a ton of people in Orange County with property in the islands who will pay a premium not to drive up to LAX.

I find it interesting that SNA is now one of the few markets with non-hub service!!

IIRC, Kellner has a home in Orange County. Maybe he likes Hawaii? ;)

I learned the pronunciation from a Northern Louisiana  with Acadiana heritage, so who knows...

I'm sure that 's pronunciation was probably the more authentic one.

Well, remember LK lived out there and IIRC still has a home in Orange County.

Probably to compete with DL running flights to HNL out of SAN.

CO announced its flight first, and quite some time before DL announced its out of SAN.

Edit: Just realized they announced SNA-OGG today. I was referring to the previously announced SNA-HNL flight. Didn't catch until just now they were announcing additional SNA-Hawaii flying.

I'll definitely have to try one of those.

As a tidbit of information about these two cities, there are named after two Indian sisters from the area.

I wish they would just annex Deep East Texas. Vidor and Jasper are embarrassments.

Bottom line, Orange County still has plenty of $$$ and people who despise driving up to LAX for their getaway flights.

Similarly, I can see someplace like SJC getting similar service for the googleites.

"dish" is the correct pronunciation. My cousins and uncle lived there for a good twenty years before he passed away.

Natchitoches is an Indian name along with Nacogdoches and if my understanding is correct they are actually sister cities.

ETA: Scott beat me to it.

Teh Mom called me just now. The picture was taken in CDG after originating in ATH. The day she was on the aircraft, there was a problem that necessitated a stop in CDG...picking people up due to another aircraft going Tango Uniform. She was originally scheduled on an ATH-NYC nonstop.

This is very true. Interesting enough I have spent most of my LA time in SHV. There is a nice Sheraton there near the college.
