Bottom line, Orange County still has plenty of $$$ and people who despise driving up to LAX for their getaway flights.

I can definitely see the SNA flights doing well if marketed properly.

This is very true. Interesting enough I have spent most of my LA time in SHV. There is a nice Sheraton there near the college.

SHV blows goats.

Probably to compete with DL running flights to HNL out of SAN.

I doubt it actually. SNA-HNL/OGG isn't served by anyone since the demise of Aloha. SAN-HNL is already covered by HA.

Additionally, if you live in the SNA area, your only options are drive to LAX or fly to SFO and connect. In SAN, a quick flight to LAX will give you tons of connections.

Personally, SNA is a better market to enter vs SAN, lot less competition.

My big question is if we'll see an upgauge in EWR/IAH-SNA for folks wanting to connect onto OGG. The HNL connection won't work, but SNA is an evening flight and could connect on to it.

I was just looking at SNA flights for next week and saw 738s on the schedule. IIRC it has typically been all 73G service.

I wish they would just annex Deep East Texas. Vidor and Jasper are embarrassments.

Yep.

It had been but the newer 738s are capable of servicing the airport. CO's original 738s weren't.

And let's not forget how down passenger counts are at SNA in 09. I'm sure the airport authority was green lighted to offer some pretty big incentives to lure CO to establish this route.

I was thinking about that too. But aren't there too many weight restrictions? Unless they route the a/c for an inbound 738 to turn to IAH. Which generally isn't how CO likes to roll.

What scares me are the people who voted no. Those people are depriving their children of a great educational vehicle solely because of a puppet biting a useless moron's a$$.

EWR-SNA has been 73G for a while. If SNA is being expanded as a non-hub, it only makes sense to put more seats into SNA...more F seats for purchase and for EUAs, and more Y seats just to have more seats in general.

Can you tell me which part of that state doesn't?

New Orleans itself is great - I very much want to go back.

Last night I managed to drop $26 on a shrimp po-boy, fries, and drink at MSY. And it took nearly 30 minutes to get it, because the food was ready and sitting there for about 15 minutes before the lady working the counter bothered to call out my order number. And it's not like they were busy. I swear, service levels in that city do nothing but get worse, and that airport has absolutely the worst price gouging I've seen anywhere.

That's severely messed up. I would be eating Biscoffs out of my laptop case before paying that out of my per diem.

Speaking of , I had no idea a new casino was being built in AC. :-:

There were plans for two before EconoPoop 2008, along with the halted plans for an East Coast version of CityCenter scaled down to fit in the available land. The one that is going forward is more than twice the size of Borgata.

It can get old. I was fascinated by the Quarter at first. Now, Midtown is about the only area of the city I still like.
