This is a line being thrown to the select few in The Box who would read such material, but I'll give it a shot anyway: does anyone have a recommendation on a book that covers (preferably with substance) the happenings of Air America in the late 60's and early 70's? I've been reading lots of espionage and CIA and that's one functional area that I do not possess any good leads w/r/t getting my learn on.

Just got back from a nice (client-paid) lunch. The restaurant had a nice deck overlooking the Intercoastal Waterway, but they weren't seating out there because of the "weather".

Next time you're in that neighborhood and on your own somewhat, check out The Cove in Deerfield Beach. Great rum punch at a place overlooking the Intercoastal, and there's a phenomenal Italian place for dinner a little bit south of there on Federal: Marcello's. :-:

Have either of these apologies included vouchers, points, refunds, or some form of make-good?

Of course not.

Wikipedia seems to indicate that Christopher Robbins is the primary author on the subject. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_America

It's actually the Intracostal Waterway; I am anal about it only because it is one of the few places in the world where I have almost died. :-:

So how particular are you going to be about properly spelling the place where you actually do die?

Many people in SoFL are quite picky about this as well.

You'd be surprised.

You are right of course, I'm typing faster than I'm thinking.

Have you read James Parker Jr.'s Covert Ops: The CIA's Secret War In Laos ?

Biggest downside is dealing with the  that is South Beach. I can't stand that place...

My wife and I ate at Grazie with Hartmann and his wife a few months ago. IMO, the food was decent but nothing to write home about. The service was rather mediocre as well. They did have a decent wine list though.

I'm not sure I'd recommend eating anywhere in South Beach, but that's just me.

I've actually been to Marcello, I enjoyed it as well. The Cove is a new one to me, perhaps I'll check it out tonight.
