Although I've never seen the Plat with a fee waiver, I moved up to that card as soon as the calendar hit 2009:

* 1.4 RDMs per dollar spent minimum (w/ miles boosts)
* 0.4 MQM per dollar spent (w/ miles boosts)
* Domestic companion ticket (came on card anniversary, not 1 year after upgrade)
* The MQMs from the card also got me to the 100k Medallion threshold gift last year - don't know if this will continue with diamond / rollover.

BTW -- I had a small problem w/one of my orders that was delivered last month -- one $25 roll (out of a $500 order) was missing!:mad: Problem was that I didn't get around to opening the box until a couple of weeks ago -- way past the '7 day' return policy. When I called the Mint -- they said 'sorry' -- that they couldn't do anything, but that I was 'welcome' to write to customer service & see if they'd reconsider!:rolleyes: I decided to dispute the charge w/Chase & they credited me the $25!^ The key was that I had tried to resolve the problem with the Mint & was unsuccessful.

Now, I will make sure that I open each & every box/delivery as soon as I receive them. My deliveries were all bunched up due to the order backlogs & so they were arriving when I was not here & I was not on top of things to reschedule deliveries w/UPS. At one point, the final attempt was made -- just 40 min. before I got home -- much earlier than the usual delivery schedule here!:eek:

Yeah, and I am sooo sick of all the adversarial ads back & forth accusing the other side of being at fault -- both on TV & radio!:mad::rolleyes:

I had at least one of the "short rolls" from the Mint.

I think that Giada is much classier than Sandra Lee -- any day!;)

I'm imagining that there is someone at the shipping/packaging subcontractor who is lining their pockets w/said rolls!:rolleyes::mad:

Apparently still wrapped - just missing coins and the roll edge gets crumpled. Seems to have happened quite often over a one-month period last year per the main thread.
