The owner/chef/ head master/genius at fat Duck was on an NPR interview today I heard while driving, that guy is a hoot, sounds like his restaurant would be incredibly fun and great tasting! He is self trained as well, a fact I like.

I may have to make a rezzie and take a trip to the UK just for that sometime.

We also found out we are going to be over our budget on accessories because the blinds are going to cost about twice what we thought they would. We had come to the agreement that we would wait a few months to buy new sheets, comforter, pillows, towels, etc. but if I got the 650 gc I'm pretty sure that would take care of most of it but more importantly surprise her allowing her to decorate ASAP (and me hearing less bit*hing about how we dont have it now)

If that's the driving factor, Bed Bath & Beyond (plus coupons) might go further than Macy's, if they have the appropriate items.

Aeromexico is out because I don't do kilometers. Korean Air's program is just weird. Maybe I can cobble something together through CSA, Aeroflot, or China Southern.

If you want miles for just DL q-ups have you thought about AS?

Also, remember -- BB&B honors 'expired' coupons, as well!^ So, you can have a coupon for every item you are going to buy & they will honor them all!;):D:-:

He had a nice piece in the New Yorker food issue a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, they only publish abstracts of old articles online; the abstract is here.

My random soup turned out very well.

That is a fine suggestion. AS Elites at some point will have theoretical reciprocal elite upgrade benefits on DL, get elite privileges on AA, and not to mention get to redeem on both ST and OW partners. It is a pretty good gig.

Thankfully we made the connection in DEN. The PHX UA ground staff were stellar, getting a completely full 752 (which boarded at 1L) off the gate five minutes early. We were in the air 30 seconds after our scheduled push back time. We also arrived in DEN 30 minutes early and were told we would be waiting ten minutes for our gate to clear, a net gain of 20 minutes. We wound up waiting five minutes and getting a gate that was some 30 gates closer to the UAEx flight. We wound up with so much extra time my wife and I split a bowl of soup. ^

FM updated, and it's bed time soon.

"The DOT ruling was a good first step, but the apparent agreement that they reached with BA in terms of making customers 'whole' appears to fall woefully short of actually doing so," said sbm12, who bought a ticket from New York to Chennai and filed a small-claims-court case, which is scheduled to be heard by a judge on Thursday.

British Airways "sincerely" apologized to customers for the "inconvenience" and offered them a $300 discount on new tickets to India, but it imposed strict rules. The travelers' names must match those on the canceled bookings, they must make the new purchases by Thursday and complete their trips by Sept. 30, 2010."

My chili turned out amazingly well. Taken from a williams-sonoma recipe and ended up tasty without being too spicy hot.

I just wandered out and read that thread, almost responded too. Almost.

I did get a chuckle out of cigarman's post.

That's like the first time he has posted (that I've seen anyway) in quite a long time.

Back from Teh Apartment. I need a massage. I will, however, despite the pain involved in doing so, pat myself on the back for my idea of splitting the workload. She cleaned while I stripped stuff out of boxes, broke down said boxes, and removed labels and such. It took her almost as long to clean everything she wanted to clean as it did for me to process through all the boxes of crap we had been accumulating.

It is indeed an interesting thought to ponder - where would CO be without LK at the helm? That is a tough call as he has made some tough decisions during tough times...
