If you don't have an external video sources connected, it probably won't cycle.

I love SPG but depending on where you go, you may have difficulty finding a hotel in that program. Or, you may be someplace where the only Starwood property is a dump, and there are great properties that are part of Hilton, Marriott, or Hyatt. Starwood, like Hyatt, suffers from lacking properties in many, many markets. Hilton, Marriott, and Intercontinental are much better in that regard. It all depends on what you're looking for, and what style of hotel appeals to you, since the different players are often targeting different demographics.

In my quest to maximize RDM's without a huge flying schedule, that is a somewhat viable option. I'm going to use this free status and the nights from the Star Do to give SPG a try. If I like, I might switch from HH. If I do switch, I go all out and switch to SPG AmEx. We shall see.
I cant believe I just said that. |
Speaking of *Wood, one of my favorite mini mileage run, weekend getaways (which I know this an "FT" type getaway only :D) is to go to AMS and then stay at the Sheraton connected to the airport. Leave Friday, get there on Saturday, dump my stuff off at the Sheraton, take the train into Central Station, hang out for the day, hop the train back to the airport, go to bed get a good bit of rest given you're right at the airport and head home on Sunday!

For someone that only has a few stays a year I would say that HH is a better program. You get free wifi in most hotels, breakfast, more properties, and the rates are often cheaper.
I cant believe I just said that. But you seem to have had a lot of bad luck with Hilton HHonors lately. I don't think your bad experiences have are typical of the overall program. |

Sure. I only said that the response would sound like that; I don't believe in it at all.
More weird Star Do twists: the GM of the hotel Randy put me at on the night of 11/2 is a guy I worked with at Borgata.

Most of that came from Friday when I stocked the bag up at ORD, since I was out of snacks.

I have a feeling I will get my IAH-TUL return upgrade this afternoon/evening.

Looks like both of my classes are going to "make". Now I need to engage/keep as many as possible in the very large class for extra compensation. If 90% of the students make it through two weeks it's an extra $1,800 in December.
