Yep. I sometimes find great deals at the outlets, and sometimes, there's nothing there I want in my size. I may hit the mall this week while I'm in Baton Rouge. I've also found some good buys at the Johnston and Murphy store in Terminal E at IAH.

The test told me some things I didn't know I was allergic to (mold) and some that I thought I was allergic to but am not (brazil nuts.) :confused: What are brazil nuts? they are a very touch oddly shaped black shell with a near almond looking nut /seed inside. |

Call me cynical, but what's the deal with this post-a-thon? What do you think Mr. Petersen is up to? Can't be CPM driven; 400M views won't bulge the bottom line. His "no rules" don't say anything about selection criteria, other than more posts might increase awareness; a pure reach-out give-away to FT members would have been more organized, one would presume.
Maybe awareness itself is the thing; there is some evidence (from the thread of shame or whatever it was tagged here) that the DO participation rate isn't all that good. In that context, 400M views could do some work. In the meantime, I'm curious: are any of you using any kind of bot to do your posts? If not, I wonder how much someone could sell one for... |
This last week provided an encounter with an old friend, earlier in life the trophy (ie, last) wife cum widow of a guy whose family name is still a household word. She reminisced with me of a NY Marathon weekend spent at the Pierre two decades ago. Not having been there in at least half that time, and it not even often entering my mind, I just did a disappointing Bing search; current owner Taj has no FT forum; and an FT search brings up little more than an Orbitz pricing glitch just after the reopening in June.
So I'm wondering: has anyone been at or stayed at the Pierre since it reopened, or can comment on the face lift from the Four Seasons days? Doubt it's worth the 6 or 8 a night rack rate, but, as they say, after some age, you don't stay at some places for the ambiance, you stay for the ghosts. But maybe the ghosts were renovated away. |
