I know the concierge at the Pierre - he's a very well-known guy around the city and is often quoted or asked to opine for various publications. His name is Maurice Dancer. Any hotel at which you have access to his services is worth the rack rate.

My favorite Four Seasons concierge was the one in the Meg Ryan film French Kiss:

Concierge: "Welcome back, madame, to the George V."

Kate: "It's incredible how you do that: The words come out 'welcome back' but the meaning is completely different. What's the deal, is that a French thing or a concierge thing?"

Concierge: "As madame wishes."

A very appropriate choice: the guy who started one of the most, if not the most, widely posted-to and read threads in FT.

Since posting is the name of the game, I guess a PWP-motivating format makes a lot more sense than, say, a one-post per entry essay contest. No more cynicism here.

That looks like the result of food as opposed to food itself.

No offense if you made it, but I find BRU sprouts to be a repugnant food that does not deserve to exist.

Thanks sfogate and baglady. Ambien and 12 hours in the sack helped a bit but I'm not 100% yet. I was hoping to get some work done around the house today but that might not happen. Tonight's gig could be very :rolleyes: if my voice doesn't hold up....guess we'll see.
