That's where I am. I just bought $75 worth of chocolate and cookie dough for the people who report to me. As a matter of pride, I won't hit up anyone else in the office.

I do not want to add more to the (now completed) discussion of school fundraisers (which I don't want to send into OMNI territory), except to note that when my wife was teaching in the NYC public schools, she would end up spending $100s of her own money to buy books and supplies for her classroom. At least now teachers can take a tax credit or deduction (I forget which).
