It is obvious the 3 oz carry on ban is here to stay for the foreseeable future. I can’t believe that no one makes a 3 oz aerosol deodorant can yet.

Several deodorants come in a 3oz aerosol can - Right Guard comes to mind...

EWR to BTV

I am thinking of taking this special. I love downtown Burlington. Now, with the fall foliage beginning... even better! @:-) The 1 hour drive (without the border patrol inquisition) to Montreal isn't too bad. I like that city as well.

Still no power on at my fiance's place in Midtown. :(

I know everyone complains about the 3oz thing, and while I'm no fan of the separate baggie thing, I must say I'm a fan of the size limit. Regardless of where you stand on the liquid explosive thing, I think it's nice to have smaller containers. Less potential for spill, more room in the luggage. ^ to that part of it anyway. Notice I said nothing of the TSA or any potential infringements of rights. At least I'm in The Box and not TS/S, so I don't really foresee a frothing, drooling attack from a mass of civil libertarians.

As it relates to TS/S, it's basically OMNI Lite. Heaven forbid you identify yourself as having beliefs contrary to the crowd over there...the FFDO program/gun proliferation thing is a good hyperventilator for me, as is most of that forum in general. It amazes me in the threads I've read how quickly they can devolve into personal and identity politics, and I'm left in wonder by the TSA and cops in the forum who take the time to nicely explain their view to the opposing side...given what some of them say about law enforcement in general, if I was LEO of any kind my tolerance for dealing with them would have been exceeded many moons ago.

I'm still dumb enough to go to OMNI, but I wised up and told myself that TS/S is nothing more than an FT vacation waiting to happen for me.

My problem with the ban has always been getting the cologne to fit in the ziplock bag
even though its 3 oz , they make the bottles too big and shape them in ways that they will not fit in a zip lock bag with the other liquids and gels.

I had an oversized glass cologne bottle on this most recent trip, and I didn't get harassed about it in PHL or MCO. It wasn't in my baggie, but it was secure in my hanging toiletry bag. I accidentally brought a fullsize shaving gel can thru in FLL and they made me get rid of it, but unlike the cologne, they noticed it in the X-ray.

Do I dare ask what TS/S is?

Finding a reasoned argument in there is about as tough as finding one in OMNI. The level of polarization is mind-numbing.

The weekend weather forecasts for Burlington and Montreal call for rain on Sunday. :( I was thinking of going up there as well, but the rain might be a deal breaker as I can't imagine Burlington, VT has much one could do in the rain.

False alarm. We got power for about half an hour, then it went out again. None as of this morning. I'm ready to hop on a plane to ELP tomorrow.
