Any need one has for the viewing of cotton can be had on 90A just outside of Rosenberg, between Tavener and East Bernard. No need to go all the way to LBB. :)

That's near where I grew up and used to be rice fields intermingled with sugar cane.

G'morning, Box. Looks like I'm going to skip the massive number of segments on Saturday and head to Houston for the after-party of the mini-Do. See some of you there!

And sadly, I'll be missing both the mini-Do and the after party. You'll all get to meet the Margarita-swilling nanny in my stead. Remember, she's there to keep baglady out of trouble.

I'll be in LAX with my oldest. It will be fun, but not the same type of fun as you all will be having.

And you shall be missed.

But for now, it's time for bed. I have an interview tomorrow and I'm really hoping I get one of the two spots they have open so I can stop looking for a bloody job. Night, Box.

When I was a kid, my parents would often take us to Rockport a few times a year. Around harvest time, it would always look like snow piled up along the roadside down around Refugio. It always seemed like the cotton trucks lost as much as they kept inside the trailer. :D

I had to make a grocery run this morning as well. I'm trying something new tonight: a cross between Chicken Cordon Bleu and Chicken Kiev. Some seasoned butter and bread crumbs cover a bit of prosciutto and mozzerlla which is then rolled inside a hammered chicken breast. After a couple hours of refridgeration, an egg wash and breadcrumb crust sees them thrown into some peanut oil for a few minutes until they're golden brown. Served with Corey's (in)famous Tater Smash™ and some green beans, me thinks.

Cordon Bleu usually runs about 25% of the fat content of the Kiev. No wonder I love the Kiev so. :(

I always thought the makers of Preparation H should purchase the rights to "Ring of Fire."
