SG - I did teh ZFV thing and totally messed it up!

I went to pick up my ticket today, and Amtrak charged me for it! So, I called CO and they told me I couldn't pick it up until tomorrow (day of flight), so I have togo back and get a refund!

Duh! I am so stoooopid!

Still, at least I can go back tomorrow, pick up a new ticket, check in and all will be OK. I hope!

Plus1, Plus1, where are you? :D:D

I may have just made the worlds best pecan caramel.

It is not syrup, but not sure agave nectar is going to set right.

I cooked it down for 73 minutes stirring non stop, well except answering a phone call.

it better be worth it, whisking for 73 minutes has me exhausted!

Do you use a candy thermometer?

yes, but it doesn't do any good for agave nectar, as it has to cook the water down before it will set. I gave up after 40 minutes at softball temp.

it set in water properly, but is a bit liquid at prep now.

if it cooks to fast it burns BAD.

candy therm is good for sugar :)

:D let me have 25 min to see if they set at all, right now sitting in foil lined muffin pans, looks like a really good dark praline.

I don't think I've ever had praline, either!

If you have some spare, bring it to the Palm and we can do a taste test!

Hmmm... must tackle Steph3n for pralines!

Sort of, but not as firm. Also pecans, not peanuts.

They're very popular in New Orleans.

Wow...not much notice there. That's crappy.

I hate eating in a restaurant when the staff is cleaning up all around you. Not that I expected much better at the Chili's Too at MCO. But it sucks.

THat sucks and I try to make sure thast my staff never does that.

Was in the PC talking with a good friend and she said they have been spending the last two months learning about *A admittance. She seems to think that there will be a lot of people in the lounges soon. Should be interesting!

I heard that CO had a great ceremony for WWII veterans at IAH yesterday and then had Rome flight issues and made the club at E very busy!

Had a great night last night. Sorry I didn't stay longer but wanted to explore the fun of gay clubs in Houston!

I don't want to go to work tomorrow or for any length of time right now. UGH! Have a great week everyone.

A. We need to talk about the extensive multi-quote.
B. I agree with the sentiment above.

I will have to make more for Palm DO, will be a bit long and dry by then :)
I guess I could make some now and freeze them.

Now, this is the sugar free 'pralines' in the form.

I have to say, this is my first foray into candy with agave nectar, I know a few things now. Agave nectar caramel, is FAR better than sugar caramel, so SMOOTH so clean tasting, wow it is wonderful. Of course at $5 just for the bottle of agave nectar, compared to about .50 in sugar, it is not a cheap thing!
