I got that the other day. It took me 3 calls to wrangle out of them that they messed up and disconnected one of my cable boxes. They claimed that the problem could only be fixed by sending a tech out.

I knew by applying simple common sense that if they created the problem remotely they could also solve it remotely, so I followed the FT rule of hanging up, calling again, and if I still got an incompetent agent I would ask to speak to a supervisor. Long story short: The 3rd call netted me the desired result.......and I don't have to sit at home tomorrow waiting for the cable guy to show up.

It kind of leads me to wonder how much money is wasted by sending techs out to fix problems that can be solved remotely if only the tech support agent was capable of actually providing tech support instead of reading from a script.

I don't know that a list has been compiled, as a proper DO thread hasn't even been started, yet. I'll be going. I would imagine many of the usual suspects from last year's BRU DO are also probables...

CO 1E, rolov, sbm12, sdm1130, Hartmann, fozz, colpuck, J.Edward, et. al. Good Beer + Cold Weather = :-:

Forget someone? LIKE ME!!!! My aunt would like to tag along as well. She is a nice women and went with me to BRU. I dont know if she is a cougar or not though.

Why is that?

I have WalMart, IGA, or Food Pyramid to choose from.

As for the restaurants those are not the best although we have a Panera and a wine Bar so that helps. Another saving grace is cheap living.

Yes, but I am not going to refund my FLL-PDX in September, as I already booked a nonrefundable IAH-FLL to connect to it. I do plan on using this SJU/STT/STX fare, though. It will give me a nice head-start on Gold requal once my membership year rolls over in late September. Also, I have always wanted to visit St. Croix.

I need to get in on one of these. :)

PDX is cool, especially since you can take the train to downtown from the airport!

MLK weekend like SBM12 said earlier!

It will be MLK Day Weekend, just like BRU DO.

So we should call it the European Tour DO. That way the theme for each MLK weekend is some three day trip to Europe or call it the non-North American DO and the options are endless. We should try to plan for a group of us to do a trip on a multisegment as a tour group ;)

Our cable went out about a couple weeks ago and on the second day my bro called them up and raised h%ll (he needs his cable). Turns out one of their techs messed up something in the neighborhood. We got credit on our bill for the outage. But, the main problem was there was no internet connection for us so I lost at least 30 posts on FT .

29 of 30 trivia night categories are written. #30 will be "All Things Seinfeld".

See... this is what happens when I try to work and Box at the same time. I wasn't paying attention, and now I look stupid :p

Maybe I should just do the Box and forget about this work thing.

Thank you fozz. It was a brief half-day of work. I signed my life away to the Mouse. I work for the Disney company now. The good thing is... unlike other companies in my field, they have not cut back on OT, and actually budget for it.^ There's a new Smashburger next door too! Along with a brand spankin' new HEB (grocery store). My schedule will stink, but, who cares... it's a job, and I'm working for a company that won't be going out of business or cutting jobs anytime soon (from what I hear).

Been to PRG a few times - easy to get around, easy to/from airport. Multiple day subway passes are cheap. Although not as many pubs as BRU.

Don't forget the cheap (but good) beer! The brits fly en mass on the LCCs for the cheap beer. You may hear a lot of the queen's English while in PRG. I did... in November.

Now, boys, listen. You are all young spring chickens. Wait until you reach the grand old age of 50 (which I will, on Oct 25) and then we can talk about age!

Funny thing is, despite being chronologically that old, mentally I still think I'm in my 20's ....:D

Your bday is on our anniversary; great date. I believe there is something about flying that makes us all look younger :) - perhaps it's all the time zones we cross that is a fountain of youth.

There's a difference between the perception of my age at work (general estimates are 6-10 years older than I am) versus out in public (2-3 years older than I am). I would like to do research in that area in the near future.

I think it's that you are so mature that people assume you are older than you are.

The other host says right away, "how long has he been a drug dealer?"

The BOX is much better than work. It is like Facebook for those that fly!

As long as you buy a round of drinks in PRA you will never look dumb, stupid, idiotic!!!! ;)

So I am doing this Facebook/MySpace/Twitter now I need to have more than 35, Male, Gay, Classic Rock.... Hmmmm what to put on there now.....

Well I did use a suggestion of his on the radio show I called in on tuesday afternoon. Romaine of Derek and Romaine fame on OutQ on Sirrius/XM was talking about her love of Biscoffs. She was also talking about the cheese cake filling in a tub. I mentioned that she could use said filling and make cheesecake sandwichs with Biscoffs or just squeeze a lime on the Biscoff for a Key Lime Pie! The later suggestion was from SBM12!!!

Why can't one of the airlines or magazines be looking for a mystery shopper to fly around and judge the airlines.

:) I would do it cheaply.

For those who don't know, PRA is "Pandyland Reserve Airfield." That's where flight diversions get sent when PLI is experiencing :rolleyes:canes or :-:zzards

I thought PRA was closed for resurfacing to accomodate the A38:rolleyes:.

No. Only PLI will see the A380. Uzbek Airways is ordering a single A380 to offer connecting service (via Douala, Cameroon) from Tashkent.

PRA is indeed being resurfaced, but it is going slowly. They ran out of squirrels to resurface teh runway with.
