Surprised the town drug store isn't named after him...

Not sure what to think of this. Looks like an incentive to visit NYC knowing you can get a free ride home after you blow all your money.

I can't help but wonder how these other countries/states feel about NYC sending their homeless to them. The article says that family members need to agree to take them in, but we all know how long that probably lasts...

Colpuck, what are you going to be doing for Future of Flight? I am on a MR to Seattle on Oct 10 and have an 8 hour layover.

Does looking for a job that I desperately need count as working?

Has anyone rented a car in SYD? I'm thinking of renting something to use for transportation to/from the airport and for a day trip or two outside of SYD. While in the city (just 3 nights), I'd keep the car parked (probably expensive, I know) instead of trying to use it to get around. It seems like it will probably be a wash when compared to a car service in to the city and renting a car for a day or 2 from a location in the city. Just thought I'd ask for some Box input before heading over the Australia forum...

I assume the family must be in the shelter system already to qualify.

After Katrina a few thousand refugees arrived here in Phoenix. Nobody sponsored them and we weren't asked for our opinion or approval. They just started arriving by the bus load and were placed in low cost housing. But this is when we had many jobs available here. I wonder how many are now unemployed and relying on "the system" to support them?

To sleep? Eat? Visit The Great Platte River Road Archway Monument?

The public transportation there is so good, I wouldn't (and haven't). Are there specific day trips you want to take?

Anything interesting?

Not especially: BWI-SLC-ATL-BWI. I was getting antsy that I would not be able to use them all, so I decided to burn two of them for a domestic route. I could have routed through ATL on the way there, but ATL-SFO was on a domestic 763, arrived an hour later, and would have netted only 200 or so additional EQM's which I don't especially need at this point in the year. Plus, BWI-SLC and SLC-SFO will be new lines. I will probably save the rest of my SWU's for some high coach fare business travel later this year (or in the event NW/DL actually release some reasonable M fares to Europe ). I'm also hoping for a 738 with AVOD on the BWI-SLC segment.

Parking at the SYD hotels is expensive, and petrol is expensive as well. A taxi from the airport to Teh Westin or Sheraton and back would be better.
Other than that , renting a car in Australia is pretty easy and straightforward, I got mine from the concierge. Driving in SYD is a little hectic because it is a major city and the one big factor is the whole other side of the road thing. It was much easier to drive up in the gold coast.
