"Water ice" is the generic Philly-area term for Italian ice. Until a few years ago, I had no clue that it came in flavors other than lemon, so I always called it "lemon ice". photog72 can shed some light on this, having been in Philly as long as he was.

Got some time to build points since I'm just starting the kitchen re-do. Home Depot was here doing measurements and walkthrough earlier this week and Ms. GadFly and I picked out all the cabinets/countertops, etc. The price for the materials was ^ but the labor was a bit :rolleyes:. Time to hit www.consumerreports.org to look at appliances. Probably going to buy from PC Richard...their salesmen seemed to really know their products and weren't trying to push the most expensive things in the showroom. As for appliances, check out AJMadison.com - you can go through ebates to purchase and save more $$$. I will be ordering all my appliances through AJM and putting it through ebates. Looking to save about $500 on sales tax and rebates. |

It's all for the best. I actually found out just ten days after the honeymoon ended. When we combined our cell phone accounts, I (naturally) received a bill. I was somewhat curious why hundreds of minutes & multiple calls per day were going to the same number. She also happened to leave her email open on my computer one evening. Saved mail with photos of her and him (same dude from over a year ago) from just two and three weeks before the wedding.
It was rough for several weeks, but I have come to realize that I made the mistake of marrying a true sociopath, who has no regard for the feelings of others. It doesn't make any sense to try and ask: "why?" as that would just be pointless. I can't understand that frame of reference. I am, however, going to enjoy my newfound freedom to the hilt. I'm hitting up PRG with some buddies for Labor Day Weekend (there is Z availability on the PRG-JFK return ^), and am going to plan an absolutely ridiculous New Year's routing to somewhere off the beaten track. Oh ALCO, I am so sorry to hear that you had to go through all of that. You are right, though, to make the break now. Individuals with true pathologies are very difficult to change/control, and it would not have gotten any better over the years. You would always be wondering, always be checking, never be trusting, and that's no way to live a life. I'm sure it's difficult, and trying, and you have days when you want to spit and kick and curse - but, keep up with the optimism! And, remember, you have this crazy box that can support you - even if it is from a distance! If any of us can help - give us a holler! Mind you, I'm not sure how a transplanted Brit living in Jersey can help, but if I can, call on me! Now, go out and get yourself some Marmite, and have it on warm toast .... yummy! Warms the cockles of your heart, that does. :D:D |
