KNRG Jul 6, 2009 10:50 pm

I'm home in Tampa.

Opened my email to find not good news... It had to happen eventually I suppose, but it still makes me really sad.

Local 6 has video of the immediate aftermath of the monorail crash with the family exiting the next compartment and Disney workers/onlookers trying to get to the pilot (deceased) in the crushed cockpit.

Well I think I may have killed the Box for the evening, but I did have a lovely review of helicopters chasing fugitives in the AUS airport area. Will check the news to see if my theories are correct tomorrow. Good night.

Mornin'

Finally getting some rain here. It's a welcome sight, besides the fact that the seeing gray clouds makes people drive 40mph on a freeway. :p

I was feeling very  when I came home at 4pm.
I took a nap at 6:30 pm and woke up now

I had to call out tomorrow because I have a sore throat and cant talk.
Now I lose out on my overtime

After I cashed in 120K OP miles for my asia reward I am left with 98K :(
I think that is what brought on the shakes and dizzy spells.

Hope you're feeling better. A day at home with the Box will most definitely help you!!! :)

Unstable Y fares

I spend a lot of time flying between CLE and BWI or other East Coast cities. However, I have noticed that the price of a full Y fare from CLE to BWI will vary depending on the load factor to that city. So, I bought a RT Y fare ticket last week (for next week) at $270. However, today looking at the same trip on the same day, the full Y fare is now $304. For some reason, I thought that the unrestricted Y fare was the most expensive fare you could pay on a Kenjet (no first class) and that the fare would be stable (i.e. not fluctuate up based on load). Boy, I guess I was wrong . I wonder just how high it can go?

Did you look at the full fare class on the ticket you purchased? There's a chance it is not full Y, but some sort of hybrid.

Y fares can have advance purchase requirements just like any other fare basis codes. And airfares do go up/down over time even without advance purchase requirements.

I have seen full-fare economy RJ fares north of $1100. EWR-BNA comes to mind. IIRC the fare was $1,116+ RT as a pre-changeover H fare.

Stop picking on BNA ;)

A buddy of mine is in from out of town and wants to take me to his old stomping ground here, a "pub" that specializes in scotch. Not being a scotch drinker, this could get ugly.

The only reason I picked on BNA was because it was in the running for my mother's idea to go see a Devils road game. She needed a flight that she could get nonrev space on, which is why we ended up in ATL when we did. ATL was the only city of the ones we picked that had space available.
