If one will subject themselves to DL / ATL (yet earn CO miles), I've twice been able to cobble together $109 OWs between LAS / BNA within the last month, while the cheapest RTs are exceeding $400 . . .

Another alternative is to look at Crumpler bags. Their quality is outstanding. I have the Karachi Outpost (now named Whickey and Cox), which is the largest comp/cam bag they make. It holds a ton of gear, but it's big and I would not want to travel with it extensively.

Interesting. Would likely pass on DL, though, as it wouldn't earn Travel Club credits. Thanks for the tip, though, and welcome to The Box.

Award F Standby

Myself, Carpchick and sprog are off to ANC on Friday. 1st leg to IAH is coach on an F reward.

I presume we are at the top of the pecking order, just short of paid F (R, J, C, A, etc.), but not YUP. for an F seat.

All together on one record. How do they work it? Give a seat out 1 at a time or none at all to us unless there are three available?

Will we show up on the list via pda at the 24 hr. mark?

What fare class is that in? At 50% EQMs those fares still aren't great. I would gladly forego the $5 travel club discount for a decent fare on a partner, though the lack of upgrades on DL would have me slightly shy about the situation.

See this thread. You're displaced F passengers but that doesn't mean that anything will actually go smoothly. Good luck.

And have fun in Alaska - it is an amazing place, no matter which part you visit.

Anyone know of a job with minimal work, lots of travel and lots of golf? I want it.

How about 2 of those 3?

The better half got two O/W's for exactly the price of my R/T for the family Christmas in FLL trip this year. Same flights, different PNR.

Find a way to intern for Ron Whitten? That would be tons of travel and golf.

Grassyass for the ptr. The cynic in me says it will fail miserably. The optimist portion of me says it might not fail so miserably.

Does anyone think I should have the pnr split or is the supposed PR1 status immune to those pnr vs 'upgrade' issues?

Arggghhhh....I'm jealous. Nothing at all decent up here in EWR-land. And I was really hoping to get to go somewhere this weekend. I suppose I could go to TYS, SDF, GSO, ORF or BDL to add a line to my FM, but really just not worth it. We've also got YUL, but I dunno.

Thinkin' of hoppin' on that one.

In other news, I think HSBC customer service is worse than Chase's. I felt like I was speaking with UA reps, they were so extraordinarily incompetent not only in the basics of their job, but also the grasp of the English language. I got so frustrated with the string of incompetence I just experienced that I upped and canceled my account. If I was an exec at HSBC I'd be livid if I knew what was going on at my call centers and the lost revenue potential.

It's amazing to me that company's haven't yet figured out that making business decisions solely on how it looks on the balance sheet* doesn't work in the long-term.

And from the looks of it, an easy upgrade.

I'm thinking of doing the run, since that's where we're going on the honeymoon but I'm not sure how the fiancee would feel about it.
