I had a perfectly acceptable experience in LAX in early June, actually choosing to stay in the PClub despite being on a UA C ticket to SIN (allowing access to the RCC.) The PClub was more quiet, free wireless*, free adult beverages **...no problems with outlets or club cleanliness, and the agents remembered me each time I exited/returned and nodded me in without making me wait in line. No complaints! And actually I noticed the agents were quite accommodating to a passenger who had turned ill in the middle of his trip...bringing him blankets, club soda, crackers and updating him on his transcon flight rebooking options as he waited. ^

* on the basis of a UA C ticket, was given a card with passcode for free RCC tmobile access (which is in my travel envelope for later use)
** on the basis of a UA C ticket, was given 2 drink chits (which are in my travel envelope for later use)

Wow - it sounds like I just caught the LAX PClub on an off day!

The job of cleaning the club seemed to belong to an airport employee who was cleaning the terminal area and was stopping in the PClub every half hour or so. Maybe this is not their standard practice.

Having spent a bit of time in the LA Pclub, the staff is generally quite nice. Admittingly, there are times when it's packed and there are times when it's a ghost town. It really depends on the flights about to leave.

Has anyone seen Jan in the LAX PClub lately? I've maybe just missed her but MR BL and I haven't seen in since probably FEB - I know she works a limited schedule but hope she's still there - she is one of my favorites.

Happy one year anniversary to the Box. ^

So what kind of compensation can I get for my broken IFE in BF on a TATL flight? :o

I don't know what to do. I would like to use my BMI gold upgrade certs but I would only get 25% miles for the cheap fares. i could fly UA or US TATL, in Y but that seems sub-optimal. I would like to do ewr-cgn, before it ends but again I have no real reason to go to cgn other than to add a line to my flightmemory. decisions decisions decisions.

On an unrelated note, this photo is my favorite so far with the new camera set-up. Not really travel-related, aside from the fact that I just happened to snap it in New Orleans. The light and opportunity were just perfect. Cool bike, too.

Great photo. I am very, very seriously tempted to purchase a 40D.

CGN/FRA Micro DO?

ALCO, awesome shot. I want a 40D too - but the diamond ring comes first. And on a slightly semantic note, is it an anniversary or a birthday?

Apparently there are at least two different definitions of what '40D' is.

One's fun to look at, the other's good for capturing the memory.

I've been telling myself that I will purchase a nice DSLR (not quite a 40D - probably one of the Rebels) before my next big trip. So, what trip should I plan so I can buy the camera? :D
