Also, FYI...

If you use Flickr's map function, and do a search for Hong Kong Airport, the sat photo appears to show Peter Max at the gate.

For quick reference, check out This GeoTagged Photo, click on the hyperlink off on the right info sidebar that takes you to the map, then zoom in. I believe Peter Max is parked at the first gate just to the Northwest of the photo.

The computer is running but who knows for how long.

Strange coincidence...my fingerprint reader decided to stop working today, preventing me from logging in to the laptop. I managed to recover a local admin password and get in and reset things so I can use it, but that was a nerve-racking hour to figure things out.

I agree that cleaning out the fan/heatsink has a chance of helping.

I've got a two year old IBM X60s and the fingerprint reader has worked about 5% of the time.

Some comments have been made here about non-functioning IFE on the CO 757s and I can make another. Of our two, one never worked and the other conked out about halfway thru the flight. The rebooting took effect but it really did not matter because there were no properly functioning earphones available.

There is some noise that CO is having trouble properly provisioning its flights from EDI and that was fairly well confirmed by yesterday's flight. The FA taking the orders said that she had not received a printed menu and one of the main dishes looked nothing like what she had been told to describe. None of them were really any good but the cheese course and ice cream sundae did come to the rescue. The late serving was totally a mystery to her until they unveiled a pizza that reminded us of US, but it came on a plate instead of in a box. We were hungry enough coming off that flight so that we did chips and beer in the PC and then the entire service on the connection to PBI.

The lack of functioning BF style earphones was another indication of the problems they are having.

Just as an aside, the business flyers that I talked to in EDI (now almost all BA flyers) have decided that when they need to come to the States they will try the CO service. They are impressed and flattered that CO has devoted two-a-day to their town and since Loganair will be leaving BA (for FlyBe) in the fall, some of them will be seeking new alliances and carriers. Therefore, it certainly behooves CO to sharpen up that service before it gets a bad rep.

First time posting in The Box, but thought I'd chime in on the North Coast Old Stock Ale discussion. We visited North Coast Brewery on Memorial Day and DH bought the Reserve version of Old Stock. They only have tours on Saturdays, but we visited the brewpub and shop. The shop had two kinds of Reserve, one from brandy barrels and one from bourbon barrels. I can't remember which one he bought as one kind was sold out; I'll have to check the label when I get home. At $10/bottle, he still hasn't opened it. :D

We moved to the Bay Area from Houston about 18 months ago and we've discovered a plethora of brewpubs in the area and are slowly making the rounds.

Would either of us still be here to talk about it?

This totally sounds like a potential Penalty Box Do.

Posts about beer are always a hit with the box crowd :D

DO idea: Three of us did a brewpub tour of Napa/Sonoma last December. Four brewpubs in one day. Yikes. And we skipped one because it was a bit far off our route. We had lots of greasy food and drinks. Good times. :)

We've also discovered breweries in the middle of nowhere, like Anderson Valley. I get a kick out of the label: a bear with antlers. I guess it it's the California version of a jackelope.

Unfortunately, people over at the Emerald board reported that offer as dead several weeks ago.

Mine usually works. It actually works so well that I don't remember what password I set on the account since I haven't typed it in 5 months. But something happened to piss it off today. I ended up having to manually uninstall the software that enables the scanner so that I could manually log in to the system, after using some Linux boot USB app to reset the local administrator password on the system. It took ~4 hours to figure it all out and get the system cleaned up. The really scary part is that I'm considering reinstalling the software for the fingerprint reader, as I really like the functionality.

Who does the driving?

There was previous discussion of an Oregon brewery DO as well. Any of them sound good to me. ^

Confession: I don't like beer. So I drive. I enjoy brewpubs, though, for the experience, atmosphere, and company. Some places are really unusual or have a great setting. Plus, there's usually good food too.

We've never been to Oregon and have wanted to go, so we'd be up for that as well.

Now that we've solved the designated driver "problem" I see no other obstacles. :D Bring it on!

I'd be up for a Oregon or Boston brewery DO.

Denver has a surprising number of really good microbrews.

That is highly improbable.
