Oh yes, I did. On 7/9 our Pension Plan had a CD with them come due and we allowed them to roll it over except that I withdrew all of the interest (and a bit of the principal) that had brought the total to over 100. As dumb as I was to have taken the chance with a bank that I knew had been wildly swinging for the fences for years, I still was lucky that timing was on my side and I was able to get approval for the transfer hours before the FDIC froze everything over 100.

I am a Wachovia customer as well. Have had only good experiences with them.^...

There are very mixed reviews about Wachovia which vary from region to region. Many of the experiences down here in South Florida that I have heard about have not been good.

I just stick to Wells Fargo, because I can't stand BoA or Chase. Unfortunately, their coverage East of Texas leaves much to be desired...

Are they still the lowest rated bank in terms of customer service?

I had an account with them, which I opened when I bought some furniture. I got 10% off if I opened up a line of credit with the store, which was administered by Wells Fargo. Considering there was 0% interest if paid in full in 90 days, it was a no brainer.

I paid it in full as soon as the statement arrived. Never received a 0 balance statement. Then, a year later, I started getting calls from a collection agency. It seems that Wells Fargo decided to charge some sort of account maintenance fee, which was not in the contract I signed. I had moved during that year and never bothered to update my info with Wells Fargo because I considered myself done with them.

Yadda yadda yadda it's the only blemish on my credit report. WF has sworn 1,000 times they would remove it, because it's totally bogus, but they still haven't.

Funny side story. When I was in college my phone number was very close to one of the local collection agency's phone numbers in Syracuse (which, is a great business if you're in Upstate NY). For illustrative purposes, my phone number ended in 4328 and the collection agency had the same prefix, but ended in 4382. Or something like that.

The first five days of every month people would leave ranting voicemails on our answering machine. "You stole my baby's couch. My baby sleep on that couch. Now where my baby gonna sleep...."

At first I felt bad and would take it upon myself to call each of these individuals back and politely explain that they had called the wrong number.

I quickly learned that this logic is lost on 95% of these people. I guess, by phone number association, I was some how instrumental in the operations of the collection agency and was therefore responsible for them not paying their bills.

We turned it into a drinking game...

Yes, my life is a David Sedaris story. Stay tuned for a buying a pink shirt in San Francisco life lesson. As soon as I get a few minutes.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

Buy CAL at 7, sell at 14.

I guess if the guy from "Pete and Pete" can do it, so can I.

I've been playing the DAL game lately. Seem to be doing alright. Although I haven't made a profit until I actually sell the suckers.

I made a decent ;) buying AMR after a huge drop last fall then riding it back up. Then, got out before the "droppings" hit the fan.

I've taken a bath lately in some of my other stocks (as everyone has). For the year I'm still trying to eek out a profit. But this week has been good to me. So far.

I think all banks suck. It's just a matter of which ones happened to screw you over. BoA and Chase were terrible to me. I'm not exactly jumping up and down over WF, but they haven't tried to rinse me (yet).

I am waiting for oil to go back down, but if you want to hedge transports with oil, VDE would be a good place to start.

I opened a couple of accounts with Bank of America in Atlanta a few weeks ago and so far have been happy. I'm keeping my Chase account in Houston for now though, and using it for filtering my work expense reimbursements out of my personal finances. So I'll basically start using my Bank of America account for personal banking, and Chase account for business-related purposes. There are things I like better about Chase, and things I like better about Bank of America. But so far I've had no issues with either one.

Our mortgage is with Wells Fargo. So far, no issues there.

And judging by the language and the inflection I'm hearing in my head, "baby" was probably about 25.

Yes, but were they proverbial droppings? And did the stock have a Chia bump? I've worked five straight days and this is #6, and my work week is four days here. I need a cocktail...I'll have a heapin helpin of mixed metaphor.

BoA has been very good to me since I began using them nearly five years ago, although I am in one of their preferred banking programs.

I told my SBH last night that I don't have a muffin-top. They're winglets.

LMAO. Does he have the matching set of leather pants though? :)

The tightness of the leather creates the muffi...er, winglets.
