Congrats Hartmann, though I hope you're not reading this thread since you have a big day planned.

Looks like I have my first trip in coach in almost two years on Monday. On an H fare. In a middle seat (exit row but middle seat nonetheless). It's an oversold flight so I'm hoping for a bump. Who knows a battlefield may loom. Worst gamble I've made in a long time though. I'm sure I can handle it. I just haven't figured out how yet ;)

This weekend. Sea Bright area.

That is a very cool area of the Jersey shore. My friend's family used to an ice cream shop there that we descended on regularly. Too bad they closed it down. :(

I think The Box should descend en masse on a certain Casino in ACY at some point. Any good fight nights in the near future, CM? They do have Boxing in ACY, yes?

I'm in. ^^

I really f'd up this time. I slept in through my flight this morning and the next flight out of LGA is full. Granted I am currently #1 on the standby list I still have to be in Dallas by 5:30 or its not worth going. I also missed out on an upgrade this morning and it looks like all 4 of my flights this weekend will be in coach. Hope you guys have a better weekend.

Think of me. I'll be on the Jersey Sh:rolleyes:re.

I will :D

FYI: Mcloones Rum Runner in Sea Bright has an outdoor dining deck on the water, the last few weeks lots of Dolphins were spotted in the water.

I was in Atlanta in '96 and loved walking around and "experiencing" the Olympics without attending the events. I also did attend two events - swimming finals and judo - and those were OK, but didn't make/break the weekend for me. Swimming was actually coll because a friend of mine won Silver that night and I got great seats on the second-hand market dirt cheap; judo was blah because I didn't know or care about the sport or the competitors.

If you don't know anything about the event and are just going on your own to say that you attended an event I'd skip it, especially with the 3:30am wake-up call. You still were at the Olympics as long as you mingle with those crowds in town.

And the day gets worse... I didnt clear the standby list but I did get a confirmed seat on the 1:12 flight. This puts me into DFW at 6:30 pm.:( This is now turning into a mileage run as I am now going for absolutely no reason and returning tomorrow afternoon.

McLoone's made our list of interesting wedding reception places - anyone in The Box have any info on it?

I'm having a gbryan morning - I have to be out of the house in 41 minutes or less and I'm still in a robe. Sleep just didn't get it done for me last night.

Ouch. I've been there before. Last time I went up to DCA for a drinking run (coincidentally what I'm doing now), my continuation the next morning was supposed to be back to IAH, then onwards to SJU (for a brief, but worthwhile overnight stay). Needless to say, my drunken shenanigans resulted in missing the 6:00am flight to IAH. I was placed on the EWR flight without delay (in F, no less), but couldn't get on a flight to SJU until about 1pm. That shaved a few hours off my already brief stay in SJU.

However, it was still a fun trip. You should try out Ghost Bar at the W Dallas Victory and marvel at all the fantastic, plastic people. They're mahvelous (not really, but it is entertaining people watching, and the waitresses wear skimpy go-go outfits).

Oh, and word to the wise...

What used to be Harlon's BBQ in IAH C South is now a BBQ joint with a different name ("La ______ BBQ," can't recall the exact name). Best avoided, unless you're into e-coli. It has not been a pleasant morning of traveling.

Wise IAH travelers know that nearly all food in Terminal C should be avoided. Terminal E is where it's at.

I had a similar experience with the semi-new burrito place in C a few weeks back. Not only was the food not very tasty, which is ridiculous considering it's Houston, but about halfway through my flight to BTR that evening I was really wishing I hadn't eaten it. Thankfully it was a very short flight.
