Can I edit my own thread title? Or should I RBP my own post to alert the mod squad?

You have to RBP or PM a mod.

Hmmm... am No. 3 on the EUA list on a fight with a full F cabin. Looks like there may be an oversell, as well. May have to look into the odds of getting a VDB Cert.

I hope to introduce the girlfriend, who will likely by then be the fiance, to the art and science of VDB's on our September trip.

I am in the same situation. Advised my boss that I may take the bump and that will put me at having 20 minutes in DEN to make my Great Lakes connection which is doable; if not - I'll take the later flight. I said if I did; I would make up the four hours early Wed a.m. :D

No such luck. Flight is booked at capacity. Looks like I'll be doing BWI-IAH in coach.

I just checked weather.com and, no, h*ll hasn't frozen over. But it is mighty hot out...

belynch, it's a Friday, but it's far enough out for you hopefully.

Poop.

That is pretty far out in advance. And I generally don't travel for work during the month of December. But Friday is my set shift on the wambulance. If I'm not on the bus (and in town) I feel like the earth will stop spinning on its axis or something.

Seriously, last time I took off on a Friday night (blondie's birthday) they had 8 calls in 6 hours, one of which was a guy who got the tar beat out of him because his neighbor didn't like the fact that he was scraping ice off his windshield at 11pm and making so much noise :-:. My partner, who has the intestinal fortitude that rivals that of an Easter Island head (ex-Nam USMC) vomited his brains out on that call.

"I could see his brain" is all he'll ever say when asked about that call.

But - we shall see. I have to do some soul searching on this one.

By the way, (this is amusing) blondie got me a Nuvi for my birthday, and paid a guy on legacygt.com to build a custom mount for my dash cubby. She's researching how to install it and she says "come here, I found it" and I gave her a look like "30 sec..." and she says - damn it. Let me guess. Flyer Talk. Where do you think you are? Work?

That's why she's mine. :D (And yes, I did finish writing this before I went over and saw what she was talking about)

These things come in threes. I hope I'm not up next for the missed upgrade! At least both of this week's upgrade eligible flights have cleared. Hopefully next week will be the same!

No worries, as the upgrade came through. Even though there were only four people booked in F to begin with, CO decided not to run EUA and relied on battlefields, instead. Even Silvers were upgraded on my flight (saw the manifest). A bit odd that they didn't run EUAs at the 5, 3, 24-hour, or 3-hour window, but as long as I got a seat up front, I don't care.

I have a feeling I will be #3. I'm on a 735 from EWR-MSP later this week. The flight is currently showing A4, but I am on an I fare, so I have a feeling several Plats will be waiting ahead of me.

sbm12 Jul 20, 2008 8:50 pm

I actually got a 5-day EUA on a 735 last night for my flight on Thursday. Interestingly they truncated my OP number in the email, and they didn't include the seat assignment even though I had one. Most importantly, however, I got the upgrade. :D

ssullivan Jul 20, 2008 10:51 pm

The majority of my CO EUAs since 2006 have been on 733s and 735s. I haven't missed an upgrade on the 735 this year, and I fly that plane a lot.

colpuck Jul 21, 2008 6:31 am

As a gold I have gotten several 735 upgrades, not a lot but several. All have been at the 72hr mark.
