Joining Baglady, I didn't pick up any upgrades - EUA or otherwise on IAH-PHL on Sunday evening. Not only that, the plane was full. So, I had a rather obese woman sitting next to me in exit row 16 (she didn't need an extender). She walked up w/ a cane too. I should have paid extra for Y to sit up front.

Don't we all say that every time the upgrade does not clear? :)

Anyone know why CO46 was at gate C-16 today? It was very odd seeing a 764 parked at the C terminal.

Yes it was. I just thought CO tried to put all international widebodys in the E terminal.

You're welcome. How would you like me to send the invoice? ;)

That's an invoice from PBC, LLC, right? :D

I had the same experience when I bought my wife's engagement ring. I got it from a buddy's guy in the diamond district, and I have no idea if it was actually a good deal or not, but I walked away feeling like I didn't get completely F'd, so I suppose that counts. Still, he gave me the ring and the name of a guy a couple doors down to go to for the insurance appraisal since it has to be "independent." On my way out the door, I get the "and make sure he only charges you $XX because I sent you." So I walk over to the guy's office, through the triple door security and give him the ring to appraise. He does his thing and then says something like "I know that David sent you so I'll give you his regular rate of $XX+20." I responded with the other number, paid it and left with my insurance appraisal in hand, but that was a strange scene at many levels.

If the guy's a friend then it probably could have been gratis. But if you're not throwing him any business I can't fault him too much for making a few bucks. Then again, $65 is way more than I paid for my appraisal so I'd say it is too much.

No in the food and beverage industry stealing... I mean borrowing an idea is a form of compliment. No billing necessary.

Got pretty beat up at my soccer game tonight. :( Two swollen knees and only 1 ice pack...had to fix a cold beverage just to cool off the other knee. ;)

See how smart you were to solve the problem though?

Is appraisal of the ring for insurance a NY State thing? Apologies for cluelessness, but I'm getting ready (financially and psychologically) for final payment. I know I'm getting the ring and the paperwork that certifies the rock itself, and that's about it. I bought in PA if it makes a difference; Jeweler's Row, PHL.

Awe, thanks. I like to think that critical thinking is one of my strong points. :D Apparently I am also "feisty" (or so a few opponents and teammates told me tonight.) :o

Guess he had the stomach for that type of thing...

And since the knee problem has probably been alleviated by now, may we presume that you have used the cold beverage for its generally recognized purpose?
