Hell no. I had my usual lunch - quasi-cobb salad with avocado, a touch of bacon, blue cheese, and light vinaigrette dressing.

If I were to ever get stoned, I would write a book and title it: The transcendental properties of bacon.

I'll be going with a client from London - who was horrified when he looked at the chamber of commerce site for Bristol. :) It ought to be an interesting week.

My sister use to live there. I spent a few days visiting and there isn't much to see or do. Their main claim to fame is the NASCAR short track and you can tour it, if that excites you. They are also close to The Biltmore House in Ashford. I didn't visit it but everyone raves about it and there is always Pidgeon Forge discount shopping center an hour or so away. Plus I think Dollywood is also near by.

This is a pretty redneck area although it sports a big college campus, some interesting closed gated communities with large houses, a Kodak factory which I'm not sure is still open, a VA Hospital and a covered bridge in a near by town.

You know you're grasping at straws when that's on the list of things to see. :p

Welcome back. How was the trip? I saw the Aer Lingus a330 taxi in when I was at SFO last week and I thought of you. That sounds creepy - totally not intended.

No CO food for me today. That's tomorrow — the IAH-ATL F special. A salad with either grilled chicken breast or shrimp, ranch or caesar dressing, a roll, crackers and cheese, a small bowl of fruit, and either Milano or Brussels cookies.

Today it was a grilled cheese sandwich and bowl of soup at a restaurant that my client took me to.

If you stop by Vosges Haut-Chocolat in Chicago (or their location in Caesars in Vegas - you can have some bacon-infused chocolate.

I'm quite sure we can skip the NASCAR thing... but Dollywood... now that's intriguing ;)

Thanks for the info! You just gotta love the box!

I like the shrimp salad.

Thanks for thinking about me. The trip was great. We landed in Dublin for our first week stay without any problems. The boys had an interesting time learning to play against European teams. That's double speak for we lost all 4 of our games but we played against some of the best teams in Ireland.

AerLingus flight was great. Enough leg room to be able to cross my legs and we were feed two meals (that were really tasty) and one large snack during our 10 hour flight. Discovered that only us Americans wander about the cabin while everyone else stays in their seats. My only complaint was that the cabin lights remained on thru out the flight while the sun was pouring thru the windows.

We flew SAS to Gothenburg Sweden. Nothing special about their flight and they offer BOB meals. Nothing special about their food. I purchased a sandwich which was just enough to keep me from starving.

The boys did well in their tourney playing. This town puts on a hugh youth soccer tourney (The Gothia Cup) every year. Over 1200 teams play and the town takes very good care of the teams by providing inexpensive lodging, free bus/tram rides and discounts on attractions. I never saw so many soccer fields in one place. The boys won one game (my son scored the only goal), tied one and lost one which put them into the winner's bracket playoff games, which they lost their game to the hometown team.

Our RyanAir flight was fine. We left from the City Terminal which was a former military airport. Very basic building. Easy checkin process but when they say one bag thru the security checkpoint, they mean one bag period. They don't care how big it is, just one bag. RyanAir boards from the front and the back of the plane. Their FA's stand at the exit aisles so that the rear tail boarding customers have the rear of the plane to sit in. No assigned seats and everyone boards as soon as the door is open. Seats do not recline and there are no seat pockets. Everything is for sale including lottery tickets.

I did discover that coffee, in Sweden, is cheap and refills are free. Also discovered that European beer has half the alcohol content as US beer and it's cheaper to buy than a Coke.

Glad to be home but really did have a great time with 17 14yr old boys and 30 parents.

Me too. I'm hoping they serve it tomorrow.

Although, I do get a little tired of the standard menu between IAH and ATL. It's wonderful that CO serves a meal on most of those flights in F, because DL gives you nothing but a Coke and a packaged snack, but a little more variety would be nice. A lot of weeks I don't have time to pick up something at the airport to take with me, and there are months where I have that same meal for lunch 8-10 times.

So last night I had an odd thing happen on the Elite Line. I called to grab an earlier flight from ORD-CLE today, and the 9:30 flight was wide open. I was looking at the seat map and asked for 12A - to which she said she'd have to see if I was qualified to sit there.

Then she proceeded to ask me about 10 questions about my qualifications to sit in the exit row... including whether I understood English (which should have been obvious as we were speaking English), and other stuff. She was clearly reading the questions off a script. I've never had that experience trying to get that seat.

Now, the fact that I'd been out drinking with my client from 5-10 pm could have been a complicating factor... but I didn't sound drunk to me :)
