Never been cut off, and that includes when I was just about done with a bottle of wine on a MCO-EWR flight and the FA put the cork back in it for me to take home and also when a buddy and I drank them out of vodka and one or two beer selections. I'd have now qualms about confronting the bartender if I felt I wasn't getting a full pour. Things like "a rum on the rocks and a glass of coke" would start getting ordered. And how much are you tipping that you have room to decrease the tip? I've always been a dollar/drink type of guy, leaving very little room to shift the spend down, other than to zero.

I ask b/c the P-Club bartender at LGA knows me now and knows what I drink but she is never happy when I come in and it seems the more I drink the weaker the drinks get. I return the favor by lowering the tip after I watch her screw me on the drink:mad:. On the other hand I was on a MR to POS a few months back and cant believe they didnt cut me off. I had 8 empty mini bottles of Rum in the seat back plus a few beers.

Dollar/Drink but I make sure to carry change as well;)

So far this weekend is looking open for me. I may head up to LGA to drink and watch planes, is anyone interested?

I would do PHL on Friday if any of the (fellow) camera geeks are available. I have to go into Center City anyway.

I spend too much time on FlyerTalk.

Post 9,000 for me right here. Where has all the time gone.

Not going to be able to make it out for planespotting this weekend; the folks are in town and I need to sell my apartment. Anyone out there know someone looking for a 1BR in Chelsea??

As a matter of fact, yes. One of my co-workers used to work at The Carlyle. Came down to the Jersey Shore and made his Brigantine summer property his fulltime home, and got the job at Borgata. He is more than slightly dissatisfied on several levels and is looking to move back. He took a buyout from someplace in Chelsea.

ETA: The individual in question has a whopping two weeks of seniority on me. Not that that means anything, of course. :D

You wouldn't keep coming back if it wasn't fun on some perverse level. My contribution to The Box is rapidly approaching 50% of my FT post count.

I have a camera I can bring. Where are you headed into CC?

ConciergeMike Jul 23, 2008 9:08 pm

I gotta go to the jeweler and pay off the ring - Jeweler's Row. I'd prefer to go back to PHL for heavies coming in, and I haven't bothered to look for a schedule. I particularly would like to catch the LH and BA 747's I see every so often from the girlfriend's house. I think AF has an A330 too. If there's a certain block of time where they're around, I'll try to do the rest of the day around that.

Goodnight, Box - off to bed.

: YHPM, sir.

photog72: Let me know...pretty much all of Friday is open, but I gotta visit the jeweler between 10 and 5.

I will be so happy to climb on the plane tomorrow and fly back to IAH land. Life back at HQ has not been happy land. As a woman, I know this is going to sound sexist, but I really think an office full of women is a pain in the @$$. The men are fine and professional - the women whine and take everything little thing personally. I don't know how I handled this environment for so long. And I'm told I have to be back a lot more than I have been. Sorry for the long rant. It has not been a good day.

Not sexist at all. I used to help run a non-profit where it was me and then 7 women at the director level. Needless to say, I ended up quitting after a few years because i just couldn't take the game playing and the lack of common sense on the parts of the others. Not to say all women fall into this category, but i've felt your pain. ;)

Thanks. Glad it is not just me. I am a straightforward lets get things done person and while I use lots of please and thank yous, I do not tend to be the flowery sugar coated bser. I save that for my clients. ;)
