I'm curious to see if I can name all the MAC teams without referring to teh Google. If so, it would be proof that I've been spending too much time with the Xbox 360. let's see...

Kent State Golden Flashes
Ball State Cardinals
Miami (OH) Hawks
Eastern Mich. Eagles
Central Mich. Chippewahs
Western Mich. Broncos
Toledo Rockets
Akron Zips
Bowling Green (can't recall their team-name)
Northern Illinois (something to do with wolves)
Buffalo Bulls

Can't remember the 12th.

Looks like I forgot the Ohio Bobcats. A forgettable team, indeed.

Where's the NCAA Thought Police? Oh, that's right, the school isn't big enough for them to care. If you're going to be PC, be PC across the board.

Some school ought to just use the generic term "bird" for their mascot. Why get all technical, like "Ducks," "Falcons," "Cardinals," etc. when just Bird would do. I'd also like to see a University adopt an Otter as their mascot.

TEMPLE isn't a MAC member for the purposes of Football, IIRC. Either that, or my 2008 Version of NCAA Football has been superseded by reality.

Hmmm? I thought Zips referred to a type of rubber shoe.

I think Temple is only in the MAC for football
they are in the A-10 for everything else

Because then there would tons of bird vs. bird matchups.

Announcer: "Pass is picked off by the Birds-- oh hell, the other guys."

Stanford should be forced to change their mascot to an Otter. Calling yourself The Cardinal and having a tree as one's mascot is simply unacceptable.

That's new, then. Temple was formerly an Independent, along with Army, Navy & Notre Dame (& now Western Kentucky until 2009 Season )
