baglady, I took your advice/suggestion and purchased Bose QC2 noise cancelling headphones for the S/O for Christmas. They will be put to good use for 32 hours of flying.
I tried them out before wrapping them and they are amazing. The sound and acoustics are just amazing!

If you are willing to up your per-ticket cost to about $500-$550 per, you can do the Dominican Republic with B6, as well (with reasonably-timed flights 12/29-01/01).

I'll give a nice, bold +1 to all the comments about the cold. With 38mph wind gusts, the wind chill is -2.:rolleyes: Nothing like coming home and having the foot of snow blown back over the driveway and sidewalks.

So, I've been playing around on B6's website for the past little bit. What's up with these flight times?

That's one of the options. However, the ones I quoted aren't quite that awful. Departure is 05:45am, and return is 11:10am. B6 seems to like Red-eyes to the Caribbean.

I have never done the far Western edge of Puerto Rico, but Aguadilla looks nice. Photos look a bit like Ponce (colonial architecture), but with prettier beaches/water. The surfing is supposed to be decent on the NW corner of the Island, from what I've read in guide books, FWIW.
