Heh. The year I went to Salzburg was the freak winter that the Alps didn't get any snow. It sure was fun looking at all the postcards of SZG absolutely blanketed in white stuff, as I traipsed around in 40 degree weather.

For those of you playing the home game, the current tally of accidents on San Diego freeways during today's rain showers is currently at 115. Not too bad considering half the city left town on Friday for the holidays.

I'm adding it to my scorecard.

I'm finding this news story oddly entertaining:

Gridlock tonight at Crossgates Mall has caused some vehicles to be stuck in traffic for up to three hours.

Guilderland Police said traffic is not moving in any direction as shoppers try to make up for lost time after losing a day to recent snow storms. Officers are on the scene trying to clear roads, but vehicles are stuck bumper-to-bumper with no room to move.

Oh, the humanity.

I was trying to go to a Best Buy after work and had to turn left at a reverse jug handle. Apparently this was the one day people decided to do Christmas shopping and the jug handle was packed. Some people decided that they would cheat and block the cross traffic, I can only assume to figure that traffic would move and let them through.:mad::rolleyes:

If you're unfamiliar with a reverse jug handle, consult this picture on wikipedia why it is  worthy. The reverse jug handle is the circle part of the road on the top of the photo.

Last year, YYC in February (in the depths of the coldest, snowiest winter they had in years)... Freak warm front (Chinook Winds) drove temps into the mid-40s, when it had been at zero or below for much of the preceding weeks.

Went to Saskatoon for Thanksgiving, and it hovered near (or slightly above) freezing most of the time. Locals told me "Oh, you shoulda been here last year this time. It was good an' cold, doncha know"

After having been in the deep freeze for weeks, it looks like my arrival in BTV will coincide with temps heading north of freezing, with rain forecast (high of 39) for the day after my arrival.

This is getting old. People in the frozen portions of the country should pay my travel expenses in the winter. I'm willing to travel to your Godforsaken igloos on the off chance it will be frosty with a chance of white stuff.

Have you considered Chile? Maybe you have your polarity reversed and need to go below the equator. :D:D:p

I'll see what happens when I head to LIM. If they have their first Snowstorm in recorded human history, I'll know I've found the right hemisphere.

As it stands now, I'm fairly certain I could take a flight to Inuvik or Barrow and ensure the extinction of the remaining Polar Bears.

So if you and I travelled together; most likely the temps would remain constant :D

Unstoppable force meets immovable object. We could really mess with the heads of people in locales that usually experience volatile weather.

I have steered well-clear. At least, I think I have. I was kinda drunk last night, and don't exactly recall where I posted.

I'm still resisting. That thread has gone all over the place.

Yes. I hate threads that do that. ;)
