For those that haven't heard, CSA announced they are discontinuing all long-haul, including NYC.

Anyone else have the urge they need to get some FM lines before our ST departure?

Interesting - they are taking the same approach as Malev and I think it makes a ton of sense. Just increase frequencies to the SkyTeam hubs and you are pretty much set.

Be Happy Air is celebrating the opening of its ATL hub with domestic US and Canada service.

And let DL take over your trans-Atlantic flying...

Which is scary that a 767-300ER SlaveShip of Delta's could be an upgrade over someone else's trans-Atlantic product.

Check out this thread.

Some of us (Aussies and Yanks) are taking a side trip to the South Island to have a few bottles in Marlborough and Nelson before wandering up to Hawkes Bay for some more of the same.

An airplane that most of us try to avoid at all costs. Unfortunately, it looks like they just swapped one in on an award flight that I have booked with NW DTW-LHR in October. At least I have more than three months to try to get away from the "slave ship" (I like that designation, mersk862).

Aloha box.

Been busy all day finishing up yard work. Grass seed is down. Shed is built. Retaining wall is complete. Patio furniture is out.

Woohoo. Now I can finally enjoy summer!

Ours starts next week after a last working trip to DCA. Then it's just laying out on the beach in Florida until August.

I thought DTW-LHR was on the 767-400s, which at least have lie-flats in BusinessElite (in a 1-2-1 config) as well as PTVs in Y (and AC power in the front half of coach) - a much better configuration than the 767-300 Slave Ships.

All the publicity talks about the 767-400 with the new config. All NW has to say about it is "767." On the other hand, delta.com is fairly clear that it is a "767-300ER."

With the snail's paced reconfiguration that is now going on at DL, I don't think that anybody over there knows the exact availability of any particular aircraft or configuration 100 days out.

All hail Delta, king of the schedule changes

There is a good chance that I am stuck with it because the 100,000 mile BE-WBC awards on DL-NW are few and far between. Strangely enough, I was able to skirt all of the award rules with this one and get a double open jaw FLL-DTW-LHR on NW returning BCN-AMS-JFK on KL.

To the astonishment of most of us, it was available on delta.com, a place where award searches usually go to die.
