Summer school

I have turned into a head banger. I have made more phone calls today, left more messages and made myself totally frustrated. I started at the top, with the Superintendent's office and ended up talking to the local press. Atleast the reporter I spoke had as much difficultly in getting anyone to return her phone calls as I did.

End result: the policy of only offering C or F is not going to change for the online APEX summer school classes. No one is answering why this is the policy for a purchased program (APEX) and since it's all online I have no idea why they can't offer the standard range of grades; A thru F.

My next plan of attack is trying to get my son enrolled in the Adult School program, of which he is not eligible because he is not a senior. Stay tuned for more rants of a mad woman tackling the California school system.

Note to self: Do not p!ss off sfogate! ;)

The whole APEX thing seems insane. Good for you for caring enough to try and get it changed!!!!

In looking at my booked flights for this month, I have 4 RJs in a row. Let's just say I'm glad I have a stack of drink coupons! That's more than I fly in a year and I've got in in a month. Argh!

Sorry to hear about all the  and  they are putting you through. But the above definately made me laugh. He is not going to be a happy camper if he is with a bunch of 70-90 year olds.

Is dual/joint enrollment with a community college a possibility?

I am a mad woman on a mission. :D It is never a good thing to p!ss me off. I currently have the admin assitant to the Superintendent's Office returning my phone calls. Adult school is not an option so the only thing I can do now is moan and groan about the policy of the C or F grade and find out what their reasoning behind this idiotic policy and add my two cents.

Good thing you won all of those drink chits at the DO.

There are days I could make Kate look good ;) I think we would get a resounding NO from all but BL JR; she's never met a camera she doesn't love, but she'll outgrow that.

Glad it's going so well!

What is her definition of normal? :D

Today is the last day in the office before the move. I can't tell you how ready I am for this day to be over.

Very exciting! I am sure it will be a great move for you both!

I got an email from a client that I did contract work for saying that the company I was subbed out from did the install wrong and did I know anything about it. I've managed to wrangle that into a return to that office as an independent contractor with an opportunity to pick up some business on that front.

At least they have started returning your phone calls. So no options now? :td:

Yes, very, very glad to have those drink chits. I may have none left at the end of the four trips. In case I'm not clear, I HATE RJs! At least I'll have a small seat mate (BL JR) so I don't have to worry about that.

I am craving gazpacho and I love the shrimp gazpacho Whole Foods has. Would it be wrong of me to send the nanny on a Whole Foods run (my car and gas of course)?

Yes but no. The Spanish class he failed is only being offered in another city so that's out. The Heath class he was signed up to do online is offered at the local community college but I don't know if it will be accepted as an equal class to what he is offered in high school. Of course the woman in charge of this, is the same woman that refuses to return phone calls, is out sick for the rest of the week. I'll send her another email in hopes that she will reply.

Back to banging my head against the wall.

I should have - she was only a few thousand miles away last year.

Not sure if I have any more options. Unless I can get someone to waive that Adult School age thing and I will try to have that done. Basically the end result is my son is not going to be eligible to play football for the first 6 weeks of school. It's completely his fault that he screwed up in Health and he knows it. Good lesson for him.

Of course it's not wrong to send the nanny on a food run.

The big question for me now is should I status match the fiancee to Delta for our MAD trip that would credit in 2010? The only real benefit I see right now is that she would get a 25% mileage bonus. FWIW, her travel next year is completely unknown.

I have a question regarding dogs at SPG properties. Ours does not bark unless there is another dog in the room but they do not allow the dog to be in the room unattended (ours would be kenneled). How strict are they on that policy? It seems stupid to me that we cannot leave the dog in her kennel while we get dinner...
