ALCO - Thanks for the CPT information. A few of your recent posts have earned spots in my list of travel bookmarks. :)

Glad to hear it. The Honeymoon will likely be my last great travel adventure for some time. Plowed through almost all of my remaining vacation time, Significant Otter has no vacation time in sight, and it looks like most of my future traveling will be to SHV.

Hopefully, working on the trip report will keep me from going nuts about the prospect of no exciting travel for the foreseeable future.

With my wedding less than 2 months away, this reality is stating to set in for me as well. After our honeymoon, I don't have anything definite until BCN for NYE.

I look forward to reading it! Hopefully you'll put up some pictures (Seoul, Khao Lak and KE J seats would be a great start) before the trip report is finished. :D

Also, if you don't mind, I'm going to PM you next week with a few quick Seoul and Khao Lak questions.

After 5 phone calls to delta, we are all in exit rows.

The DL 763s are definitely . I get them once in a while domestically and that tiny FC section induces claustrophobia. That 2-2-2 configuration was a bad idea and it gives you a sardine can feel in the four row front.

I will no longer will buy a seat on them internationally and only allow myself to be stuck on one if it is an award. The six across seats in business are not very comfortable for the overnight, even with the new upholstery. God only knows how it is back in coach.

I guess it's a good thing we are on their ex-TWA 757's

I'm on flight CO561 tomorrow SAT-EWR and it's zero'd out across the board. I think I'll try for a VDB. I have no need to be home at any time, so a voucher would be nice. Wonder what my chances are?

It's going to be a completely full flight or you'll get your VDB. Good luck.

I think you are probably right. I have to say that JNB was not my most favorite of places in SA. We were there for a wedding, and got the h*ll out of dodge as soon as the wedding was over and drove down to Durban. Then headed east, up through Swaziland where we spent 4 days, then up to Kruger and stayed at Ulusaba for 5 days (Richard Branson's Safari Lodge - OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!) Then back to JNB for flight back to US.

Oddly enough, we ran into a couple in Thailand who got married the same day we did, and were from S. Africa (our next destination). Strange world.

Remnds me of years ago when Mr. Brit and I did a trip to Thailand. In BKK we decided we wanted to do a tour of the Rose Gardens, floating markets, etc. and the hotel organized a "semi-private" trip. We were to go with one other couple. Turns out that the female of the couple was the sister of my "room-mates" boyfriend. Bear in mind that my room-mate was the person I had lived with in Australia 15 years earlier when I was backpacking around the world. While on the tour, we got chatting and she talked about "Cookie" - and I mentioned that many years ago, while in Oz my room mate dated a guy called Cookie. (He was a chef, it was his nickname). Turned out to be her brother. What a small world indeed!!!

Cool! Thanks, sfogate. Keep eyes, fingers, toes, and everything else crossed that the bump gods will be good to me!

While the planes themselves are old, the interiors are the newest and far better than the 763ERs they are sending across the pond. The 757s have AVOD in Y but the 763s do not.

I do like those ex-TWA 757s (just as I like those flown by CO) because DL put entirely new seats into them (at least in business) as opposed to the cheapskate shortcut they used on the 763s with some new seatcovers.

We get them when they are utilized domestically, generally transcon or to SLC. I have marked the 415PM JFK-SLC as a personal favorite to connect with all destinations in the west when the nonstops are hard to get.

Monitor is very wise - I pulled 4D on a LAX-ATL 763 after a misconnect and it was indeed .

I feel like being a  on my flights and bring two carry-ons. The flight are empty and most of the people on it are checking bags. Now if I can only get my camera stuff and a few shirts into a laptop bag I could skirt the rules.

I just "upgraded" to a laptop case from early this decade. I think it could be a two-day travel bag, even with the laptop.
