EWR-SJO is ~2200 miles. How do you arrive at 140k? I guess that they're giving you the 70K that they otherwise would have paid (or that they will get back)? Keep in mind that only half of that will be in a silver account and that the other half is in a non-elite account that is not controlled by you.

As I am the market leader in all of my hubs, yall should be matching me. :D:p

I guess I didnt explain it right? She booked reward tickets for her and her fiance out of her account. Total cost of tickets were 140k miles. She is offering to give me use of the miles (140k) if I buy her new tickets at a total price of $650 plus pay the total redeposit fee of $300.

Short version is I can get 140k miles out of a silver account for $950. Should I do it?

Some Ted routes indeed are getting two class mainline but beware of the ever popular equipment swap.

Even with my minor miscalculation before, I still vote no. Not worth sinking the money as the miles cannot be combined with your stash or leverage your status.
Hmm...I'm sure I'd still be stuck in Y- on that flight, even if I was lucky enough for the swap. I'd definitely only try to get the ICC to fix it rather than deal at the gate, I think.
