Box Question of the day:

Case: My boss has (2) 70k mile reward tickets to SJO booked for her honeymoon in July. She is silver and booked them when the tickets were $950+ each. Now the ticket prices have come down to $325 a/i each and I was trying to talk her into redepositing the miles and just paying for the ticket but she is already having to pay for her wedding and "cash is tight." Since she is silver it would end up costing her a total of $950 to redeposit and buy the new tickets (which she will earn miles on and may get an upgrade).

My question: Would it be worth it to pay for all this for her and she allows me to use the 140k miles at my leisure. I will be getting miles for <.01/mile and she will get the chance of an upgrade on her flight plus be able to earn another 10k miles or so between her and her husband.

Note: her husband is very passive and would not care if she got upgraded on the flight and he didn't. She thinks this is a good deal for her but is concerned that its not a good deal for me (I think its a decent deal on both parts). Also, cash isnt exactly "tight" with me but I'm not expecting as big of a bonus this year due to economy and I usually dont just throw around $950.

I think this is one of those many non-geek moments where you let a sleeping dog sleep. It makes sense to us but it is most likely a hassle to the rest of the population.

I was Support Engineer for a team of 25 outside sales reps-software industry-and all I can say is that there are some rather sick(or not) people out there.
I alerted the VP-sales,come to find out he was on all their distribution list.Said he didn't have too big a problem with it as long as it didn't interfere with the performance of our product(911 software).
That was all good with me-
But changed rather quickly when the CEO went to demo to a very prominent PD\FD\911 call-center. Talking about heads rolling..............

Why just one giant thread. Everything fits nicely into the following categories:

Service.
IFE.
Food.
Pricing.
Equipment / Routings.
Box.

That should be sufficient.

It's really not a bad deal for 34,477 BD miles. (or, ~70K if you've already exceeded 55K).

I'm at the point with cash flow where I can order a 734 just about every day. There are a couple of places I'd like to serve that need something larger, but the narrowbody flights are what will end up funding the longhauls.
