Yeah, I try to avoid it as well but sometimes stuff happens. I did feel guilty enough to let them know I was missing the flight and to deactivate my check-in status.

Oops. Knew I forgot to do something that day.

Last time I got a 5 day EUA on EWR-IAH, it was followed by a companion upgrade at the gate! This happened to me on a Friday morning.

As a passenger I agree - it seems like Airbii are just slightly more comfortable/less hellish. But as an aviation enthusiast, the automation bothers me. I don't like the limits that the computer puts on the pilot, and I did ask about this in the UA Pilot Thread, only to be rebuked pretty good for basically having the facts reversed. The 'Bus pilots there seem to put stock into the idea that the computer will act faster and know better what to do should the  hit the fan.

Yeah, that's what I want: a passenger jet pilot basically saying "the machine knows better than us." The only aircraft that I know that to be true on is an F/A-18: Hornet pilots are actually taught to not touch the controls if the aircraft departs controlled flight, since the system will bring it back for them.

Same here - the game moves far too slow.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems with the restrictions on number of focus cities and frequencies per route, we'll never get to a point where it gets cut-throat and firms start driving other firms out of the game. Everyone will just continue happily along.

You're half-right. There are no caps on route frequency, but there are also not enough players for the world size. If you don't want to play anymore, there is an established way to exit the game.

Ha! Funny, UA seat maps for E+ now shows seats with more leg room and ones that are occupied shows a person-figure with somewhat elongated legs and extra leg room.

It will. Computers are predictable, humans are not.

Assuming the programming is done correctly, they are capable of taking the tremendous amount of data available, digesting it, and coming out with the best response. Humans can not.

Don't forget that the pilot can over-ride what the plane "wants" to do in an Airbus. That allows for corrective action to be started automatically while the pilot figures out the best course of action. It's a tremendous safety net.

All valid points. Guess I should switch to UA.

I still want to play, and I hope my comments didn't come across as a whiner. Just generating some discussion for the alterations that may occur for the next round.
